First off, great work, great pictures, great everything so far.

Apart from the admirable goal of keeping your cruiser as stock as possible, is there an advantage/disadvantage to the early canister filters v. the later spin-on filters? Looks like my PO bought a conversion kit and I've got a modern filter now. Does it make any difference other than the "look?"

Thanks man :D

I think the newer ones are easier to change...
And likely filter slightly better.
But i think it is negligible :D

However someone might know better than I :)

I've been dreaming that i'd get mine done the last 18 years :crybaby:

my truck goes thru times of bad....and of good...and needs to be sold...but.....all in all its fun in the end :)

Don't tell me your selling your rig!

Man i cannot wait till it is running again.
My wife raises an eyebrow every time she ask me how the cruiser is coming along and i say something about the painting the engine.
She asks "the body is not painted yet?'
haha, man :D

you get a new one with each oil filter.

ordered 10 oil filters from Dan, good price :D

Ok, now to get that canister cleaned and painted !

Dan is great guy to deal with. You don't happen to know if he still has free shipping on orders over $100 if they aren't to large or weight to much? I thinking it's time to go thru the old parts book and see what I can still get.

Dan seems like a pretty good guy.

Oil canister is at the powder coaters :)

Seems like no much work has happened on the tub at the body shop :(
all the other bits look like the have been done, and are waiting for epoxy primer :)
