It's daylight Destin!

What are you doing today with it?

I also found maybe 3' of that glossy fuel hose and you are welcome to it. It is marked FUEL HOSE and I use it for the bay area.

I also have more heater and standard fuel line than I will ever use (I get remnants from the local parts store) Come over with a list and take what you need.

Also I have 1 pre '67 that is almost finished if you don't have one.

Might seem like a lot of black, but once the body is back on it will look good :D
I think the black will look better with the red than the orange would anyway ;)

So the question that I have is when do you sleep. I am on the other side of the world and you are online. Through the day you are at the cruiser and then you mention work somewhere in there. Great dedication.

Great job. Cheers Dobster

so this is the oil filter stuff...

1) can i clean and reuse the old filter?

2) what is the spring for? an option instead of the spacer ( it was between the cap for the filter and the outer canister lid )

3) the other ring was floating inside, what is that?

Thanks man :D

I am a work-a-holic :D

Actually i have had some down time waiting for a new project to start.
Waiting for the contract to be signed before i do anything hehe :)

But yeah I am online all the time for work anyway.
Chat client open and browsing and coding with music playing at once ;)
Command tabbing through apps :D

I think I have a kit (filter) for this from my Corona that you can have. So long as the filter is correct and I think it is.

Spring pushes on the filter, the other is the "O" ring on shaft to housing.

Changing the oil on my Corona was a BITCH!

yeah If it is correct I would love to have it ;)
Let me know!

So the spring goes between the filter and the spacer on the shaft housing before the lid goes on? That would make sense, provide tension so it is tight.

I need to degrease these bits and either paint the housing or have it powder coated...

Thanks again Shane!

thanks man :)

I might wait to intall the oil canister till it is reassembled and running...

do not want to introduce to many new variables untill i know everything is wired up and running smoothly :)

What would be cool is if someone would take some pics of the assembly of the filter. I fat fingered mine and enough of the pieces are similar in size and shape I can't tell from the internet diagrams EXACTLY how it goes together. I think I got it but I'm not sure. I plan on using it when I put my rig back together.

When i finally put it together i will document it in photos :D

First off, great work, great pictures, great everything so far.

Apart from the admirable goal of keeping your cruiser as stock as possible, is there an advantage/disadvantage to the early canister filters v. the later spin-on filters? Looks like my PO bought a conversion kit and I've got a modern filter now. Does it make any difference other than the "look?"
