Since I recently lost my best friend and I know most of you have one. I thought this thread would be a way to say thanks.

Thanks for sitting in the cruiser while I tried to figure out my code 71, for riding with me even though you vibrated out of the seat if I went over 65 mph, for still wanting to go for a ride even though the A/C broke, for leaving all your drool marks on the windows and your hair anchored into the fabric, for taking the wheel anytime I left the rig, for being my free car alarm, for being the best kind of back/front/all over seat driver there is, for looking so damn cute in the cruiser, and for the angry looks when you couldn't go for a ride, the list goes on, but for now....thank you Chloe, I don't know what I'll do without you.

If you have pics, post them!

Sorry for the loss. They are the best type of co-pilot one could ever want. Even when they are doing the whining, howling, turkey gobble excited scream bark, just for a ride to the park.

Sorry to hear about this as well. They give us so much and ask for so little.

Sorry for your loss.. its hard when they go .......

My big guy went March 1st of last year and I still miss him. But the cruiser was too tall for him to get into so he preferred the Golf. Nose prints and drool are still there. Don't have the heart to wash 'em off...

Yeha I know the feeling TacDoc.... Mine are 11, 7, and 3... They are all still going pretty strong (run every weekend at the park for 30 minutes straight, all are ball dogs) but can see the middle one is slowing down some and his back/hips are starting to bother him. The oldest will outlast the middle I have a feeling.
Mine are Yellow Lab/Pitbull, German Shorthair/Pitbull, and Mastiff/Great Dane/Pitbull, all are 60-80lbs and great, loving dogs. Had my wisdoms pulled on monday and all three have been constantly on me, smelling my mouth like "Dad WTF is in there? Why do I smell blood?!" The youngest, our only female, has been laying on me/with me no matter where I am. Such loving animals.

Oh man, I am very sorry. No doubt she lived a great life with you.

I looked all over for my dog on Sunday, called him over and over. I thought crap, maybe he chased a deer although he never has. Started getting worried when he never showed up. Went to get in the cruiser and realized I had left t he ambulance door open. He was just sitting there, making sure he went along should I decide to leave..

Sorry for your loss...

Sorry to hear this. When I think that Ally is now 6.5 years old, I can't help but wonder where the time has gone. She has enriched our lives more than I could have imagined.

So sorry for your loss!!
We lost our gunner in dec. at 7 y/o to cancer.
What an absolutely horrible void they leave after they pass...
We just got wrigley (another bull mastiff) in feb. he's 7 mos. now. He's becoming a GREAT dog already. I still miss the G man, but ya gotta move on.
Life without a dog is just FAR TOO EMPTY!!
They bring so much light in your life.

First pic is gunner, the next two are wrigley.

Thanks for all the sentiments! And thanks for posting pics, each one made me grin. :)

It's strange, I cleaned the drool and the hair but it came back. Think I'll leave it for a bit too.

The one. He was the one. The dog you get thinking they will be a good friend and turn out to be your best friend and your brother.

Floyd was just that dog. He was the smartest dog I've ever owed. He could get ice out of the fridge. He could get me a beer as well. He would fetch firewood for the campfire. He went everywhere with me even to work for 9 years. And because of me his life ended short in a tragic accident that has scared me for life. It's been 9 years since he passed and there isn't a day that goes by that I haven't thought of him at least once. People say it fades but it doesn't. Has made me a stronger person though. I have a wall at home dedicated to him and I still have his ashes as I cannot bear to let him go. He will always be with me.
