@afgman786 is taking care of some family matters, I’ll continue to help organize this ride, although I can’t participate myself.

Seeing that we are only a few days away from the 11th, and more people voted for the 18th, let’s lock down the 18th as the date for this trip.

Would someone that would like to attend on the 18th be willing to trail lead? This really is one of the easiest trails to lead, and I’m sure you’ll have others with you who have been to flagpole before.

The trail lead can pick the meet up spot and time. Any takers?

It looks like the weather will be rainy on the 11th, but nice on the 18th. I generally avoid wheeling in the rain if possible, so the 18th sounds great

I would really like to go but google maps is telling me to leave my place at 5:30am to guarantee arrival at Union Springs by 8:30am. I’m theoretically willing to do that but so far there’s just two guys and one chainsaw… who else is coming?

Im thinking we do this route:

Union Springs- Flagpole Knob- Switzer Dam

Meeting at Turner Ashby high school at 9am 8:30! Fueled up and ready. Air down at trail head. Bring lunch.

If you Google these routes and tell it you are walking, they come up exactly as you drive it.

Lunch upon arrival at Flagpole.

I’ll be there! My first time to this spot. I too am about 3 hours away; I’m amenable to whatever meet up spot is designated.
