Thanks for posting the hard numbers Jon. Got to love a long-stroke motor that makes that kind of torque below 2,000 rpm!

Looks great Jon, you must be really pleased with those numbers. Does it still fit in the garage with the soft top?

Cheers,

Josh

I'm going with "no" - at least not with all that air in the tires!

It was very tight with the bikini top, and I understand the bows for the soft top were going to make it taller...Jon?

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. Note the tires in the pic. Fifteen pounds they are.

Lucky...I pull the valve stems and pile in 4 freinds:rolleyes:

Top effort looking good Pappy (my inspiration)

Thanks Matt. Long live the long-stroked 3FE!

I'm waiting for Matt to get tired of his stroked 3f and give it to me...I can be at his house in eight hours and we can put it in my LX in a few hours:D. Then, when we move back to Santa Fe, you can see the engine in person Jon. Whadayathink? I reckon it sounds like a bloody good plan. Matt?

Cheers,

Josh

Hey! Done deal. I would really like to see Matt's engine, though I suspect it might take a visit to OZ on my part. I'll start saving my pennies.

Thanks Dan, especially for helping make it financially possible. I think everybody at AT was impressed, though I suspect the vast majority of the sales crew didn't know what they were looking at. None of them could ID the engine.

I've been watching your posts on Mark's thread- I can't wait to hear about it. Make sure you wait to get new tyres until you get to Ak- you will be shocked how much cheaper they are in the US.

I'm up for a beer! Let me know when you'll be out this way. my Wife's father and step mother live in Melbourne, so we get there every now-and-again. If the Crows make the Grand Final, then we will certainly be at the MCG:). I'll keep you posted. Do you ever make it to Bordertown?

Jon,

You're always welcome in Adelaide too- it would be great to see you here.

Cheers,

josh

Ya, I've been hiding over here. The general MUD crowd can be a bit rough. From the view count I suspect many have found this post through my sig line when I post elsewhere. Maybe I'll do build summary in the FJ40 group as a ROTW.
