LMAO!!!!!

Ok Photo, You know I am keen to get the scoop on that with all the heating issues I've had. Louvers came up about a year ago when I was asking about them and everyone seemed to think it was better to increase the airflow from underneath. How long have you had them in and do you notice a difference? Any and all details would be greatly appreciated.

Bill,

I like! Tell the pimp to get a life

Where did you get them? (Now I know why you needed your paint code ;) )

Rick, that motor hasn't run in over a year, we need to keep pushing him. :flipoff2:

what did I do? I said I like em..... :flipoff2:

my rain comment was directed to the missing driverside wiper arm :D

:D I doubt that it's "missing". It is in his pile of stuff to put back on, he has taken the whole damn thing apart(because he could :flipoff2: ) so he could put it back togther again... ::)

I think he removed it because he was installing a heated water squirt option that allows to break up the ice a little quicker. :flipoff2:

Or maybe to install a chimney to help deal with the heat.

He must be doing something inside too since the grab handle is on the dash.

Photoman must have been in a hurry to show this off. Tools still laying on the snorkel, and hell you could have at least dusted it off before you took the picture :D
Be sure to let us know how it works out. I think all of us with after market power addons would like to get rid of a little extra heat.
I picked up a hood scoop from Summit Racing, but the dang thing was almost as big as the whole hood so I sent it back.
Curious to hear if water is a problem, did you do anything to channel the water under the hood?

The louvers are made by Roadwerks and sold at truck stops etc. through companies like Pinklightning.

Unfortunately, all they make is stainless so it takes a good bit of work to paint them. Thanks for the paint code info CDan.
I removed the wiper arm to take the cowl loose to take the DS fender off. I'm playing around fabbing some stuff there. Since I'm not running maybe I shouldn't post as I can't tell how any of this is going to work out.

Bill

Jesus bill, :-\

You are supposed to be putting it back togther instead of taking it further apart

Ya know what would be really cool... The scoop from/like the newer 4 runners.

ok I give what new gizmos are you throwing under there now?
Dave

hmmm.......Oil cooler? and......

Yo-
I have not made a final decision on channeling the water yet. On the DS I may cover or relocate the coil. Everything else should be OK. On the PS things may get ugly with it going onto the exhaust? Also, I have to see how things finish up with the water/Methanol injection as I am going with two nozzles and the wiring may be in the area. Have to check around the throttle body too with the SC. Right now everything seems like it should be alright.

The stuff under the fender from front to back - oil cooler, accusump preoiler - relocated charcoal canister. I have a Mocal oil thermostat and am remote mounting the oil filter. The accusump is a 1 quart for preoiling (there can be a whole other discussion on sizing as it relates to the stock capacity and the crank beating the excess oil etc.). In the area from the relocated charcoal canister I am trying to install a squirrel cage fan to blow air when not moving or for excess temps both for the trans and for the oil cooler. I will run plumbing under the battery box to blow through the oil cooler. The pic is how I am modding the front turn signal light to allow air through the cooler when moving. In the pic I have not bent the metal yet for the lens or welded in the bars (round stock) and leaf screen etc.

all this stuff is because you added a super charger and its runs hot or is hot under the hood? if so that answers my question.......no super charger for me.

It's more than just the blower Pimp.

When Bill's loaded for a trip he grosses well over 8000 lbs.(no trailer either). He also goes places where he is his own recovery service. He has redundant redundancy :D throughout the vehicle.

I installed these in my XJ...worked VERY well on the trail for extracting heat from under the hood.

They're from the Pontiac GTP's....I have the part numbers somewhere...got them at the dealer...$36 each. Didn't bother with the drip pans because they negate any actual cooling. They come white.

Wow, photo, super cool work ( ;) pun intended, hardy har har! ;) ), after seeing everything you equip your vehicle with, I'd love to have you do a daily tech session and simply share whatever it is you are working on! The Hell with whether or not you are running at the moment; man this is great stuff, keep it coming, keep it coming! For All!
