Bill,

I've thoguht about putting the gauges up under the rear-view mirror, but also would like to use something like what you have as well.

I'm glad that a picture from the link I provided got you inspired. ;)

Here are some (more: not all from/for 80):

Forgot this was a "hood" thread and not a meter thread. Sorry for hijacking it. :)

I thought I would show how I did the underside of my louvers install since this has come up in other threads and may help those that are doing louvers or thinking about it. In order to support both the hood with the bracing cut and to support the hood sound/heat insulation; I made some channels out of aluminum. These slip over the braces and under the hood skin. There is some stock sealant that has to come loose between the hood and brace and I put some new in with the braces. The pieces are held in with the sealant and with the bolts from the louver. The channels have to be made as separate pieces in order to be installed. The underside hood insulation fits in the aluminum channel and is thus held up in place. I painted the channel black and trimmed the outside with some rubber trim to dress up and protect the edges as can be seen is post #50. The bolts in this picture were just temporary for fit up.

Like minds... Bill, I copied it to my hood vent thread, hope you don't mind. It might also be good to have you repost your pics, since the original thread has dumped all but this pic from the looks of things.

Looks like a lot more work than I made out of it Bill. Hats off to you, and your engineering on them.
