If I was to run the Amazon inclinometer, couldn't I just tap into the power that's already up there in the stock map light area? I don't want a gauge or any additional things up there. Just the one pictured here.
It looks like it just has a 12v lead.

Thanks man, the round gauge is this one here:

I tried finding a spot to tap in overhead but with no luck so I ran the + down the A pillar and tapped into the cig lighter + wire under the dash so the screen comes on when I turn the car on. I did butt splice the - wire to the - coming out of the old sun visor mirror light though as I got new visors that don’t use any power. I also used an inline fuse with a 3A fuse in it on the + wire of the inclinometer because the inclinometer comes with a cigarette lighter power source that has a 3A fuse inside of it, I figured better safe than sorry
This looks great. What is the round gauge?
Did you just tap into the existing 12v power in the existing lamp housing to run the amazon unit or did you need to run wires up there?

Awesome and thank you for the info!

Yes, You can tap into the switched power in the sunroof harness. You don't want to tap into the lights because they are not switched.

I have started printing some overhead consoles for the 80 series trucks. There a few to choose from. Gray and tan/oak. Im planning making a few other designs. Maybe one for a CB radio, a blank plate so you can cut your own holes, and anything else that you guys might have a need for. Let me know what you think. You cannot use the factory sun visors with these. I have the LS400 visors on my trucks and the consoles work fine with them. They have the same footprint as the factory consoles with the aux fuel gauge/compass/altimeter that were available in the Japanese and European market. There are tapped holes in the roof for the rear mounting bolts, but I don't think they are really needed unless you plan to put something heavy in the console.

$105 Shipped in the lower 48.

This one has a hole for a 2” gauge along with a little display I found on Amazon. It has a clinometer, GPS speedo (KPH/MPH), GPS altimeter (feet/meters), GPS coordinates, voltage, compass, and clock. It retails for about $50 on Amazon. I have used it for a few months and it seems to work well.

Hi! How can I get one?

Im all caught up on orders. Let me know if anyone needs one!
I ordered mine a while ago and just installed it recently. The screw holes on the two forward screws (closest to the windshield) appear to be at the wrong angle to line up with the threaded holes above the headliner without cross threading. I obviously had to pop some holes in the headliner to access the threads. Has anyone else had this problem that you know of? I could try and take pics to better illustrate but not sure if the would help.

Haven't heard of anyone having issues with the front holes. Maybe try wallowing out the holes in the console to get them where they can move around a bit? You don't really need the front screws. I just put the holes there for the folks that already had the Euro/JDM consoles.

I can try that. Wasn’t sure how much material there was if I started over sizing the hole. Ot does seem pretty sturdy with just the two but I’d like all 4 if possible.

no mine was spot on, however their was 2 additional mounting holes that were not available on my 80, I asked the seller about them, he said to just leave them open, no need to use them.

Yes my two rear ones were spot on. The additional ones are likely available on your 80 they’re just above the head liner. I used a soldering iron to burn a hole through the headliner to access them, but the 3d printed holes aren’t engled quite right to keep the screws from cross threading.

Hi there
I’m interest in purchasing one…let me know how to proceed.

Thankx!

Finally got around to installing the overhead console and it is awesome looking. Wanted to post a couple install pointers for 94 and older cruisers with the cloth headliner since most the pics are from 95+.

When attaching with the factory two screws there was a gap along the windshield. Bought 2 - M6x100 screws and installed them first at the windshield. Shorter screws can be used but does have to be a M6x45 or longer. Those two forward screws pulled the console nice and tight to the headliner and I didn’t feel the need to add the factory two screws back in. Factory screws holes didn’t quite line up either after tightening front holes, but enlarging them would have worked just fine.

Working on trimming the stock visors but they are turning out well too. Overall I’m very pleased with how it’s turning out besides the finger prints on my headliner 🙂

Console with just factory screws.
