Nice job. When I worked at a toyota dismantling yard I had to do that a lot on pick-ups, 4runners, camrys, corollas, etc. but never had to do an 80. We never had one in to dismantle. After doing tons of dash removals its not as difficult as it seams. Again, great job. More overwhelming when you do it for the first time.
Agree. It wasn't hard at all for not having a helper. I did make the wife come out to help lift out the dash support. My anxiety kicks in when I am thinking "am I going to get all the screws and bolts back in place and not forget a connector somewhere". The longer I wait to get it back together the more I think I will forget something. I'm hoping to get it back together by the end of the month before I leave for Chicago. If not it will be another three weeks due to work.

I got my heater core pipes in the mail today so I put in a couple hours installing. Lots of cursing Toyota while I was fighting the clamps. One wouldn't go on with the slightly thicker O ring I was trying to use so I had to reuse the original. It looked okay so I'm hoping for the best. I got as far as putting the dash pad in so I should have everything buttoned up tomorrow evening. So far no extra unused screws or bolts so that's a bonus.
I also took delivery of my Slee short bus bumper that I had delivered to work today. Slee really knows how to package things. Now I just need to finish the heater core so I can back the truck out of the garage to install.

I got it all back together minus DS trim due to cleaning up some wiring. After dealing with the stupid alarm when connecting the battery I started it up and everything worked like it should. Eventually I need to figure out how to disable it for good. I took the "brain" out but then my power locks don't work. My remote key is barely alive being held together with super glue, stripped screws, and a half dead battery at the moment. Anyway tomorrow I plan on getting the interior hosed off and hopefully dry enough to put back in on Sunday. Slee short bus will go on this weekend as well.
If all goes well I will have it ready to go for when I get back from Chicago on the 4th.

Got a lot of crap done yesterday.
-Replaced ARB with Slee short bus. Was a much easier one man job over the ARB which my guess is 20-25lbs heavier. My rolling shop chair raises it perfectly to frame height.
-Got the CDL light to work when shifting to 4wd using a modified version of Phil's "Pin 15 mod"
-Replaced DS mirror that mysteriously broke while sitting in the garage. May replace PS as well so I will look symmetrical since the replacement was white.
-Hosed off the carpet.

This is what comes out of the carpet when washed.

Broken part of the mirror. I thought about welding it to fix but the spring needed to be compressed down which I couldn't figure out how to do. This photo is after I installed the broken piece on the parts vehicle in order to keep it water tight.

I guess I could paint the white part black to make it look better?

Installed the OME 4" comp springs today. Gained about 1.5" of lift over the Slee springs. I didn't measure the Slee's when installed so I don't gave a good "unsettled" comparison of the two. It seems to sit level but I need to pull out of garage to get a better side view. Once I have the interior back in I will take out to see how it drives on and off road.
Here is a photo of Slee 4" and OME 4" comp springs (2419) side by side.

Seems like a level stance. I may put in the drivers seat later to drive around the neighborhood to see how it feels. Right now I still have my interior out waiting on quiet crap to get here.

Does anyone know if this kit will work with a 4bt cummins also?

I have A/C! It was a brutal drive yesterday with temps at 108 with high humidity. Luckily I had an extra AC/heater dash unit because the A/C button was bunk when the shop was trying to get the compressor to kick on. All in well now.
I also got an alignment done which showed caster at 1.2. It drives fine so I will live with it for now. I have plans for Slee front arms in the future but I will wait awhile to save up. My plan was to rebuilt my spare front axle and swap in with the arms at the same time. Right now I am running Slee plates for caster correction.
Now I just need to get the interior back in so I'm not rolling around with just the drivers seat.

I did the temp gauge mod today. Since my scan gauge II doesn't work with the mechanical 6BT I didn't like the fact I had to rely on the factory gauge. Eventually I want to add a digital temp gauge but until then we will see if this works out. I ordered four of each resisters needed in case I fouled something up which only ended up being $15 with shipping. I also have two spare gauges just in case I want to revert back to factory. It wasn't very difficult even with my amateur soldering skills.
Hopefully I will have some time this weekend to install it. Need to get in there to replace a bulb as well.

Cimarron's cruiser is going to be the batmobile....any plans for a grappling hook?!
Funny you should say that. I had that idea not to long ago when we couldn't get a fallen limb out of the water in front of our camp area. It's still there so maybe I will fabricate the grappling hook winch cable attachment to finally get it out.
