Great job with that conversion. Another turbo to have considered is the HY35 that comes with a 9cm^2 exhaust housing. This makes it spool up faster at low speeds, yet still gives you great highway performance. I should be swapping one into my 4BT in a week or two.

MORE PICS PLEASE!!

it looks like it would be a blast to drive.

It was for about 2 days! Hearing that whine was unreal! Its been a long project, setbacks suck, se la vie!

Glad to hear the project continuing. How did you fair with all the storms that have been hitting the coast in the last two months? Everything still standing? After attending this month's cascade cruiser's meeting it sounds like there will be several cummins powered cruisers in this area that will be belching to life in the next year or two. The diesel bug is spreading .

We lost a bunch of roof shingles a shed door and some trees, nothing major.. Howlin winds though! Its pretty neat here on the beach during the storms, the ocean gets HUGE! 45 foot swells during the one storm! Cruisers Cummin along! I decided to use the 94 dodge engine and axles for my other brown cruiser, build it up and probably sell it, It should be neat to see one with Danas and a 205...

Nice build up. Just finished my 6at conversion in the same color 60. I love the difference. Keep the Pic's flowing!!

can you post picts of the airbox? did you use a cummins box, or make one? Great work, btw.

Used the stock Dodge airbox with a K&N filter, I don't have a pic of it at the moment, will try and get one next time I'm in PDX.

cosmo, did you modify the oilpan or just have enough lift to clear it?

re:

I had to modify it to work. I'm gunna lift it a little more to help out with that. Are those ford shock towers your running? How did you determin the placement? I notice they hang down a bit below the frame

you can see the top of the box in this pic, inside the engine bay, not hooked up.

So, what do you have left?

its still sitting as it was after the accident, trying to get the payment from those responsible. Should be dealt with this week, hopefully. There's a lot to redo, I can't talk about the cause/fault until its dealt with, so please don't ask.

heres pics of it after the accident:

I can't find it in the thread previously but what headlights are those? Looks like they held up well in the accident. I've got one burned out and figure I'll just spend money on an upgrade instead of a direct replacement.

No need to talk about fault I was just wondering if it was getting worked on and you answered that. I'm hoping to make a trip out to the coast in the next month or two and it'd be fun to swing by.

still in pieces, should be happening soon, insurance claims suck....

BIG UPDATE :::

Insurance claims suck, but Landcruiser Specialties sucks worse.

So story is the master cylinder failed. Tim replaced everything in the brake system but that, said it was fine, the truck drives for less than 100 miles and the master fails??? And he's not responsible?????? B f'n S!!! Now I've got an attorney involved. I'm pretty pissed, its been almost 8 months since the accident and I'd be driving for free right now on veggie oil.

So a long backstory,

I helped Tim get the electrical working for three days before the accident back in November noticed a few things messed up.

For one my windshield was broken, wasn't when I brought the rig there, Tim said he didn't do it, or he didn't know. Then there was a huge dent in one of the shocks. And, he mounted the shocks upside down with the pneumatic lines up at the top even after Rancho told him they were directional. Then i notice the front axle isn't straight its like an inch to the rear on the passenger side.

Then, on the first test drive, i braked at a stop light and the oil pan was gouged by the front driveshaft. luckily i was right around the corner from the shop and didn't lose too much oil. I stayed and helped take off the pan and put it back on after Tim spot welded and jb welded the holes. I was f'n livid, the main reason to do the SOA is to clear the damn pan!!!!

Nice work tim!!! props to you!!!

F U C K me right??? after all that.......

then i'm driving to salem and the brakes go out and i hit a semi, luckily it wasn't two minutes before on the highway!

and now the insurance says hes not liable....

But on the bright side Matt and Tony at Landcruiser NW have been super helpful, ran a bunch of the brake tests and are in the process of fixing Tim's s***ty welds and his bunk crossmember and all the accident damage.

Heres some shots of the stuff they'll be working on and the veggie system:

Do they look like $75 an hour professional welds????

Be careful what you do if you take your rig there, I don't think he'd ever SOA'd a 60 before and definitely had no experience with Diesel, but that part of this rig was already done, but he's advertising that he can do them! BEWARE!!!

a certified weld inspector said they were cold welds on top of cold welds could shear at any time.
