Kinda reminds me of this good intentioned, well organized groupl. More concerned with form and format than actual results (wheeling and socializing). http://www.asa4wdc.org/content/wheeldust/current.pdf
..........zzzzzzzzzzzzz............
All this planning sounds like an election platform. I guess we should nominate you to run for President.![]()
Uh, no. Let's just wheel. If Phil (or anyone else) wants to volunteer to be Prez, let's just go with that. If two people want it (really?) we could have a poll.
And Metro, a lot of your posts lately are coming across a bit, uh, aggressive. Just a bystander's point of view. Didn't you volunteer for the 'position'? I never thought of it as a position, more like a hobby. Just back out of it if you want.
I actually think we just lost Phil and it sounds like we will lose Jackson as well.
Nobody has expressed any non-confidence in Phil as leader of CSC.
But the issue of having an election was brought forward, and the questions arose how such an election would be done. If posing such procedural questions alone is perceived as drama, or as an expression of non-confidence towards Phil, well ...
They both came to their senses. Honestly, unless you have an agenda to push or see something you want to change, I can't see the attraction. I was happy Kevin accepted the title at the time so we didn't have to worry about it and go through all the politics necessary- or find someone to volunteer. That's why I was all for Phil taking the mantle, thought maybe he had some ideas to share and could give Kevin a break from the jesting- as that's about all I see the position as being worth. Kevin does most of the visible interaction with agencies and such, maybe being able to say 'I'm the prez of CSC' carries some kind of weight, but I doubt he uses it much.
Jackson, just ask around and see if you can get someone interested in doing whatever's necessary to maintain the website. I don't think it's a club 'position', rather a volunteer thing, and in my opinion should not be a chore you resent doing.
Until the president decide not to be selfish and move his sheep into a new pasture the club will continue to deteriorate
The secretary should work with the president and club administration committee to organize club assemblies, whose activities include:
• Brainstorming ideas for projects and activities
• Reviewing club strengths, opportunities, and weaknesses
• Setting objectives for the club
• Coordinating committee activities such as trail clean up
• Promoting new member inclusion
Must be present to win, I thought. My current commute to meetings takes too much planning on my part.![]()
Good start, but overlooking the most important point for the new "change administration", safety, especially important due to some members having children. At some point, rigs maybe out of the urban area, out of reach of traditional rescue emergency services, so it would be good if they were properly equipped with like devices, allowing for easy repair, interchangeability and equal wheeling capability.
The new administration should appoint a committee to develop a build template, with specific brand parts in the areas of lift, tires, communications, rooftop accommodation, food/equipment storage, recovery gear, rig/dorkel wax/polish equipment, etc. The expedient method would be to use an existing rig as a template, the most heavily advertised example would be the LCP rig?
Working with the new sergeant at arms and trail safety officer, setup directives to prevent any rigs that have not attained the LCP template level of build from going on trail runs, or those above a set challenge level. Once this level is achieved, likely wouldn't want to deal with the riff raff, so, could host separate meetings and have a private forum for those who have achieved this rarefied nirvana?
Great, do we need to change our name to Rinsing Sun-AZ?![]()
It was very effective at getting rid of the riff raff in their club?

Do what ya can, when you can for the sake of the club. You'll be noticed and patted on the back, im sure of it. The individuals that are deemed as the backbone of CSC never strived to "be president some day". They simply have enough knowledge and input to keep everyone meeting up and interested every month. The people that want this and want that, are the ones that can't do or wont do it on their own for the club and want someone else to jump at their idea and make it happen. The CSC'er guys that are actually involved and make things happen for the good of the club are doing it because they enjoy it....so lets stop biting the hand the feeds you. No need to assign titles and duties, if its important to one or some, it will get done by someone and if not it wasnt that great in the first place.
Now who's turn is it to give me a handy at the next meet??
