Yeah pray for no snow of any measure. If it snows decent, they have been known to close the parkway... I think we are gonna warm back up to more seasonable temps this next week, as long as any more snow holds off we'll be good.

Alright Debbie downer.

I'm just saying... Do anti snow dances or whatever needs to be done to ward off the snow/bad weather...

As much as I like snow I'm with Jay. If all works out this will be the first overnight UC trip Lori makes.

what time is everyone meeting for lunch on the 15th?

So this trip is less than two weeks away!!! Lets get FIRED UP it is going to be awesome:hillbilly:

Who is camping at Black Balsam Friday night with me???

I'm with you Friday. Taking the day off, so plenty of time for me to wander up. Email me some coordinates, so I can use my GPS.

Unless something else comes up I will be there fri night, should have at least 1 other with me. What time are we meeting up fri night?

I am hoping to be up there around 4 to 5 so we can get into camp and set-up before dark; all depends on if the wifey can get off work early.

and rick I will shoot you some coordinates shortly

Currently there is snow on Mt. Pisgah, it is supposed to get warmer up there, and I can't imagine that they'd shut it down during peak season, but it is the National Park Service...

Rick,

I'll be ATL for BSA training all next week and will be done before lunch on Friday. You want to ride up together? I'm guessing I'll be done around 10am and ready to hit the road shortly after.

I would like coordinates or at least a nearby area so I can check on timing and coordinating with work.

Sounds like a plan! Like I said, my time is flexible, so if you are delayed, I'm cool with that. I'll be packed and ready to go. You got a CB or FRS radio?

ha-ha, I just found this from the older thread...same basic info.

Alright guys,

Here is a little more info on what road you are looking for if you haven't been to the area before:

the road is Black Balsam Knob road (FS road 816) and is located roughly at Mile Marker 420 on the BRP Google Maps

should be able to type in your address and get directions to the parking lot at the Black Balsam hiking trail head. The 4wd drive road conitnues on NE past the parking lot. Just keep heading down the trail until you see some cruisers

I included some more high tech features this time, with the terrian on and also marking the parking lot :hillbilly:
