He saw the flash/current coolness of the ICON brand and thats it.
The 62 wasn't damaged. It was built and had a steel rear bumper.

I talked to Jack for like 20 minutes at a book signing about my 62, and his, so I don't think your assumption is based on truth.
This. The 62 is perfectly fine. Did need to have a rear window replaced, though. Special effects can't quite duplicate shattering a window lol.
Anyone who damages a rare/unique/old/valuable vehicle for 3 seconds of TV footage is not a true fan of said vehicle. I don't care if he bought an ICON for $200k and is one of the cool kids now. Why not use a Ford Explorer or something like it? He backed into that car hard...unless it was 100% special effects, that 62 got damaged beyond a window.
In no way would I allow my 62 to be used in a car crash scene. I know what I have, have been a fan far before ICON and influencers made them 'cool', and wrecking a 62 does not add to the scene. He obviously just sees it as just another vehicle.

No screen grab, but in the third (newest) season of Jack Ryan on Prime TV there's a 60 series that gets tuned up during a car chase they say is in Piraeus/Athens Greece. The wheels are an abomination, which makes its demise slightly more acceptable.

Motor trend TV says Season 26 Episode 6 but on demand tv shows Season 18 Episode 6.
Either way good episode but they left a lot of the repairs out of the story line.

They've had some good episodes, pretty generic for a car show and really low run time but some of my favorites were the quattro, scout, bronco, defender, cosworth escort
was the cosworth escort the car that ultimately became uninsurable due to it being stolen so much in the UK?
Yes and the FJ60 they put an H55 in was another good one

No not to do with the theft. In the UK for years the insurable classification of a car had to do with engine size/power. They also didn't always go to the advertised power of the car stock, then new it was closer to 300 at the crank from the factory and could vastly exceed that with just a cheap tune. They were as expensive on the insurance meter as most ferraris of the day. The HP for insurance was also factored in to how likely an accident or reckless driving would happen. In the earlier Cossies with the same large turbo as the rally car you got pretty bad turbo lag if the car wasn't tuned properly wich lead to people accelerating out of a corner then have the turbo kick and the car to end up in the nearest farmers fence on country lanes.
Those were the two factors that I remember. I'll never forget riding in my first one when I first got into cars. At that time there really wasn't such a thing as a fast 4 cylinder car even in the SF valley, adjacent to where I grew up, where all the honda tuners in the US first started. It was great because I had been a rally fan my entire life but also a huge muscle car fan. This one had been tuned to about 400 BHP and belonged to a work collegue of my uncle at his law firm. He actually did sell his old 328 ferrari to get one.
