This West German brochure doesn't seem to indicate any model year. Other than the small print indicator at the bottom of the last page, and the model information, I'd agree it is a 78, but interesting in the US, they were a dated and completely different brochure as shown on my thread, HERE.
Yeah, some of the foreign brochures don't even say a year at all on them! You just have to know by the look of the truck. hahaha. Case in point was a recent 80 series brochure from the UK we scanned. Zero indication on model year or year it was printed. This West German brochure doesn't seem to indicate any model year. Why does the Aussie owner’s manual have a left hand drive truck on the cover?
Good catch! Yeah not entirely sure. My guess is it covered Australia and some other markets. Why does the Aussie owner’s manual have a left hand drive truck on the cover?
Interesting! That all tracks well, but that D,W and M do seem like a mystery. The 'E' may mean English. The letter seems to designate area or language. 'A' is used for US/Canada, perhaps North America. There is also 'S' for Spanish and 'F' for French. Some letters don't appear to be meaningful, German manuals with 'W' or 'M', and French/English manual as 'D'. The letter is used as a suffix to the publication number on the back of manual.
