Hoping someone has been through this exercise with Cruiser Corp covers and Specter foam. Specifically:
My existing seat covers had no backing wire to reuse and none came with the new covers. Does anyone know the best gauge/type wire to use?
Specter recommends bagging the foam while installing the covers. Do you just leave it in place permanently? Did you all use any other backing between the foam and the springs?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Between foam and springs i normally use burlap. The plastic bagging helps the cover slide over. No real need to remove but you might be able to rip it out. Wire or paracord can be used to pull edges down before screwing into place. Ratcheting the seat upside down will help also. Allows one to pull the edges down a little better. Prepare for a few bad words, screws flying and the end result is worth it.

Any wire will work but the fencing from TSC etc works really well. Anything that slides in for the hog rings to grab will work.

Burlap could be used between the springs and foam.

Thank you both for that intel!

for the wire, i use .065 stainless tig filler.
i didnt bag the foam, and had no issues. about 10 years later, everything is all good....and the drivers seat has some miles on it.

Done. Help and intel here and from @DirtDauberGarage, @WTFOVR, others from the Atl YOTA crew was a huge help. I’m thinking she wears em well. Beer break with the dogs was a critical step. Also: 1) do yourself a favor and cover the foam with a trash bag prior to wrestling on the covers - massive help, 2) use zip ties to tighten the mid cushion bar to the attachment points prior to hog ringing them - another huge help (again, thanks @WTFOVR). Oh, i just cleaned the hardware with brake cleaner, oiled, and relubed - no rattle can. I dont mind that the wear shows. Now I just need to install the headrest and guides. Gonna build up some courage prior to that.
