Hey guys - thanks for the info. I did hear from the trail leader today, but it's not Robbie this time.
Good to know about the location for the start of the trail.
I guess I need to figure out how to carry some gas. I removed the factory roof rack so the Cruiser would fit in the garage. I am open to ideas - maybe I can somehow strap some cans on the back bumper/spare tire? I think it's best to avoid carrying it inside the vehicle - just stating the obvious there?
Ellen's not going to make it on this trip - just me this time.
Ash - good idea on the air filter!

Evan,
It's been, three years (?) since I ran it with Robbie.
I'm sure you'll be hearing from you trip leader - until you do:
I carried an extra 10 gallons of gas that I did use - I may have squeaked into Moab without but nice to have the peace of mind. There are no gas stops.
Rabbit Valley is west of Fruita on I70 - the exit is just before the state line. There is a primitive campground.
It's a great trip! Nothing too technical on our run - lots of varied terrain, fun camping and meeting folks.
Is Ellen going?
I agree with Juan, extra fuel is a good idea for this run. This is a great trail, you'll love it. I'd pack another air filter that way you can have an offroading filter vs hwy filter. Following a large group will produce a fair amount of dust and unless you can blow out your filter at the end of each day, having a second filter is a good idea.
