I don't know how you could.Has anyone installed taller tires, 35s to lightweigh 37s, and gotten a MPG boost? I'm considered 37x11.50 tires. They're about the same weight as 315s or 35s.

I usually got 12.5-13 here, sometimes a little less. The most I ever remember seeing on a "normal" tank was 13.7 when I almost exclusively drove to Eaglecrest from the valley.A couple years ago on an Alaskan road trip I was curious about MPG and I calculated it between Delta Junction and Tok, which is a bit over 100 miles. Of course, there is no need to stop or slow down along this stretch and I did not. As I recall it was an exciting 17 mpg. My cruising speed was approximately the speed limit whatever it was there-probably 55-60. That's the best mpg by far I've ever seen. Stock LX 450 with ARB front bumper.
Perhaps this summer I will try again on another road trip to see if that can be matched. Otherwise my expectation is 13 mpg at best around Juneau town. We have no actual open highway in JNU.
Where can I learn more about that valve body?37s 4" lift, +/- 5800lbs, part time, 5.29, HD Valve body w/ 3rd gear lockup, dual elec. fans, 12mpg avg. 18mph downhill.

Maybe the lower partial pressure of oxygen at altitude makes the engine initially run rich, then the ECU decreases fuel trims to compensate?Believe it or not... 3 years ago, in my 1997 80 with 220k, I did an overlanding trip starting in Texes, then to New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado. I was loaded (see pic below), with gear, two dogs and a plump girlfriend. While in the Rockies, I got 17 mpg (I checked this repeatedly because I was convinced my math was incorrect) . Once I returned to Texas, 12-13 was the norm again, even with the rig unloaded.
Two good friends have told me they got the same mileage while in the Rockies. Can anyone explain?
