FWIW also,

The KOA is on the main drag and you'll hear trucks using "jake brakes" all night long.

Actually, I don't recall hearing them last time.

Whatever...

I've been to Moab at least half a dozen times and have learned to stay away from the main street to avoid the noise.

My kabin was by the entrance near the highway. Not bad, I just had to walk to use the bathroom.

I will not be camping at E-hill, I will be heading up thursday nite or friday morning.

The wind was howling so bad when I was there that you couldn't hear a truck jake-braking if it came right through the camp grounds. :D

More info from the KOA. I sent this image, asking if the circled area is where they will try to put us, and the response.

"Yes, that is the area where we are trying to put your group. However, anyone bringing a dog and wanting to stay in a cabin will need to be near the front of the campground.
Thanks,
Lila"

(It's a couple hundred yards from the highway)

Who is planning on using which accommodation? I'm thinking Kabin, maybe tent.

I'll be on top of the roof of my truck with the dog unit inside in the back.

I'll probably just pitch a tent on some forest road south of Moab...or maybe just off the trail for the day that we are riding.

We'll be in a kabin. For the last two years of Cruise Moab, we've stayed roughly in the same area that Steve's got circled on his map. We've had no issues with road noise.

We're checking in on Thursday evening and checking out on Monday. Looking forward to it!

Evan

we'll be tenting it. i guess that means i'm committed to working on the cruiser.
actually i'm getting a bit excited about working on it and going on this trip, so that is a good motivator.:D

also, we reserved Devil's Kitchen campsite #2 for Thursday night. we will probably stay 'till Tuesday as well.

behind the rocks

here's a link to a write up and a google earth track for Behind the Rocks. on Google Earth you can see where Tip Toe must go too, if you zoom in enough.

there is google tracks for Golden Spike and several others on this site too.

Here are the tracks from the three trails I did last year. I think all three of them have been proposed for October.

JMS's CM07 Google Earth track

Right click, save with a *.kml extention, then open. Note that my track is different than the track cited by Shawn. We did the trail as a loop, and we didn't go as far out.

I'm going to have to drop out of this event as well.
Remodeling the house and some unforeseen issues have put me behind on both time and money.

I'm NOT out. Or in other words, I'm going to Moab!

Can't wait - so far, this is my favorite place to wheel on the planet.

Wouldn't miss it.

We're still in and will probably stay at the KOA. Tent or cabin I don't know.

Sorry guys.

I'm out.

An opportunity has come up and I've decided to pursue that.

Have fun y'all.

I hope she's worth it.

I suppose this means you don't have enough money to buy that driver's door either.
