Has anyone been through the local towns recently? We want to come but with 2 small kids not being allowed inside or not being allowed to use bathrooms is a deal breaker.

How is Silverton and Ouray?

We were just in Silverton this week Wed/Thurs. Most shops required masks but definitely didn't see anything posted about children/bathrooms etc. Things are ridiculous already, that would be insane. Didn't see any issues, saw a couple of other families with kids. Restaurant seating was fine, not too busy.

Got my bumpers on today and doing the suspension tomorrow, then I’m headed west! I love it when a plan comes together!!!

How is Silverton and Ouray?

Got back from Silverton/Ouray last night. Both places pretty busy with a mixed amount of mask usage. Didn't seem to notice any issues with kids going inside or using the bathroom, but I wasn't really paying attention to that. Also, on my way home, got some alert (pretty much like an amber alert) on my phone saying Summit County (Silverthorne/Breck area) is requiring mask usage. Might be a sign that cases are starting to go up.

Looks like there'll be at least a couple 200s there, but no cool parts on mine. Don't think my sliders will be here in time but I'll probably zip the running boards off at least.

Very few of the popular trails in the area require sliders or anything beyond decent all terrains and factory skids, you'll be all good with some decent line selection. We passed a stock 570 on engineer that was towing a cricket trailer, they were doing just fine. It did look a little out of place but only because everything else was so overbuilt. On Ophir a subaru forester was plugging along the other direction.

Is anyone coming down to Salida or Silverton from the Denver after the 17th? I'm placing my order for the Slee front skid and would prefer to not drive up from Salida if not necessary.
Hey man, I could likely bring you a skid plate, let me know. I am leaving on 7/21, headed back on the 23rd. No other agenda other than I'll be around, will see what the kids and dog want to do, guessing we'll run some part of Corkscrew/Hurricaine/Corkscrew/Placier as that has been the fan favorite recently...

My family and I will be headed down (from Golden) Saturday the 18 and will be camping in Ridgway if you still need/want someone to grab your skid plate.

How is Silverton and Ouray?
Just spent a great 10 days exploring Durango, Silverton and Ouray with my COVID paranoid wife and 10 year daughter. No problem entering stores, restaurants, bathrooms, etc with my wife and daughter. Colorado is requiring everyone to wear masks in the public places. We saw almost everyone wearing masks and practicing social distancing even in the streets.

Headed out from South Georgia to Colorado!!! :steer:

For those of you who will be in Silverton it would be a good chance to collect more data on the excessive gas tank pressure issue we see at high altitude or high temperature.
A number of us have seen no or very low gas tank pressure at high altitude using non-ethanol gas, in my case on the high passes of the San Juan's.
I bought my non-ethanol 91 octane gas at a little station in Silverton at 864 Greene St. I hope they have not closed due the shutdown.
So support this little station in Silverton and get some more data on gas tank pressure issue.
Please post your results in this thread.
Gas tank building excessive pressure & fuel smell. Dangerous for sure! Why does this happen?

Heading out to Buena Vista/Salida area with the fam tomorrow morning. @geanes I am guessing you are camping at the "spot"? Don't know what are plans are yet, but probably not wheeling all day. Regardless maybe we'll see y'all around or pester you on the radio.

Same spot as previous years, yes. Hopefully will get to catch up!
