Collector edition/40th Black Pearl badges

I have a collector’s edition & will be making new black Pearl badges that are NLA. I searched all over for new ones and with no luck I’ve decided I’ll just make new ones. These will be sold as a new set. Perfect for 40th anniversary and collector edition models.

Will include:

Front grill Sombrero badge (black Pearl)
Rear hatch sombrero badge (black Pearl)
4wd badge (black Pearl)
“Toyota Land Cruiser” rear badge (black Pearl)
Front antenna nut (black Pearl)

These will not be old badges just rattle canned. All new product & exactly as oem. Materials will include UV protection. No cores required.

Someone is. If they no longer make them or back ordered I’ll consider making CE fender emblems/40th. Maybe sell it all as a complete package. For now just the 5 items listed above.

An aftermarket set might be worth $250 if the pieces can be made to OEM quality. Where will they be made?

I could only imagine what you paid back then. Sure lucky to have scored them.

I’ve been making dashes since 2016 so this will be a very easy item to make. I use a few different manufacturers to make things for me in the USA and overseas but these will be made overseas. Quality is extremely important for me so it sometimes takes various prototypes until the product is oem accurate. The manufacturer I’m using for these does really good work & confident they’ll turn out great.

Price: I been researching price points for these items for a long time. Although, I’ve seen just the large “Toyota Land Cruiser “ badge sell for around $200-350 used. It makes more sense to make it more affordable. Around $250 seems fair.

I plan to make other items as-well. The side moldings for the CE will be the next item. What what I read on here. All the aftermarket ones are not good. Problem, tooling is usually is expensive and the manufacturers don’t want to spend the money to make it correct the first time or don’t understand the original shapes, colors and finishes. So a crap product floats around until nobody buys or someone makes the correct one. Dashes are another. I have both fj80 and fzj80 dashes to mold from but I’ll make separate posts regarding those items not to confuse the threads.
