Cnorm how's the truck?
I'm still waiting for my torque converter and wiring harness!
Maybe Santa will bring it...

Its been running good. we got a cold snap here and it was hard to start. had to modify my stock intake tube so I could use the grid heater. got all that hooked up the other day and it starts so much better. I have an autozone AGM battery but I can tell I am gonna need a dual battery setup before long. When it gets light out I will take a couple pictures.

I have a couple tanks of diesel through it now and seem to only be getting 16 mpg. but that with over sized tires so the odometer is not correct. one of these days I am gonna barrow a GPS to get accurate mileage.

One thing I found that Dustin was looking into is that the reverse lights no longer work. they are tied to the dash gear indicator lights, those also do not work. I made my own version of the rear light mount and installed some LED lights in the back for now. Just on a switch but better than nothing.

I still have a couple leaks that keep popping up. where the rear heater hoses go into the rear heater block, they keep leaking, I keep tightening the hose but it still leaks after a little while. the upper radiator hose leaks every now and then. I used the stock pinch type hose clamp. I need to upgrade that to a constant torque hose clamp.

What year is your cruiser and which trans are you using?

for the intake I had to drill the holes out to be able to mount the tube pointing back and had to buy another silicone 45 elbow

My messy wiring, contractors, and breakers.

here are my rear lights I borrowed another design for these. I dont like how they turned out so I might go for version 2.0 later

Still have the mlps and wiring? If so I can tell you how to wire it. Tomorrow when I get home I'll post it up..

are you talking for the reverse lights?
the compushift controller uses a 5 v signal to the shift indicator instead of the 12v that the stock comp used. that's why the dash lights are unhooked. I have all the pin outs I need but am waiting for Dustin to send at least a couple wires pre pinned to stick in the connectors so I don't have to just splice wires. I will probably have to use a relay or such to get them to work but no biggie.

I have been talking with Dustin about the conversion kit, I am leaning this way and have just started the search for a p-pump 12 valve.

Would you be able to make a short video that shows cabin noise under normal driving conditions?

Thank You
Morgan

I just hope you have a lot of patience and time. Dustin is not that quick at getting parts out. I still don't have everything that he promised was in the kit. He is a nice and knowledgeable guy, and the parts he makes are great! He just has some customer service issues to work out.

Thanks for posting the video up. It definately sounds more quiet than my 24 valve cummins. I can't hear my 37" MTR's over the engine in my ram...the 6bt is a more quiet engine than the ISB.

I am in no real rush to get the swap done and I wouldn't start the build until everything is in hand. I would hate to get started and then have my rig down waiting on parts. I really wanted to go the 1HZ-T route, but my dilemma has come down to parts availability since I DD my 80. My next build won't be a DD, so will most likely go with a Toy diesel with as many new parts as I can swing.

How are you liking the compushift with the 343?

Do you think you would be able to squeeze an NV4500 in there without having to do a body lift?
I have a 1" body lift with my NV4500. It may not be a necessity but the Duiser guys said it made everything a whole lot easier. It helped clear the intake tube from hitting the hood as well.

Driving down the road. When I get up to around 50 + you can hear my knobby tires just as noisy as the Cummins. I might try getting another video with a Decibel meter running.

Nice dash. Is changing the dash color come with installing a Cummins? I went red LEDs last week.
