Hey guys I have a 74 40 and I was feeling a subtle bind every 15 or so shifts... So I figured it was time again to swap out the slave and rod... So I did... But I noticed the rod was in an angle and the fork has play in it in which I can move it up and down a full inch...It still drives great but my foot still is telling me something is off THIS pic is not mine but it's exactly what mine looks like and same angle BUT mine has the return spring on it... I'm thinking something is wrong with my fork...?

Just a guess, but it looks to be mounted upside down? Take the two bolts out and flip it over to see if it lines up.

Your first guess is probably right. It's been years since I was in there. Your fork does look a little like it's sagging.

Easy fix? What holds it on the ball?

Like I said, Been quite a while so I really don't remember, sorry. Surely someone a lot brighter than me will chime in. If you have a repair manual that would be place to start. For now You might be able to look in there with a flashlight and a small mirror?

The bleeder screw needs to be on top. If that's the case, something else is at fault.
