I used my pressure washer but unfortunately it did not do a very good job. (I pre-soaked with degreaser.) There is quite a bit of Oklahoma red clay mixed with various petroleum products that have a created a cement-type coating.

Any tips or tricks?

thanks

I have good luck with brass brushes on crudded up aluminum. Even dry. An assortment of shapes and sizes really helps. That reminds me. I'm getting low. I'm off to Amazon. Thanks! Also, 140 lbs. of shop air with a tight little nozzle does wonders on that crud also.

After disassembly, sand blasting in a Harbor Freight blast cabinet, powder coating and reassembly.
They will come clean, and even bling, if you put the effort into it. :grinpimp:

Yes, that would be the trick.

Only if they never leave the garage, or get donated to the LC museum in SLC!

LOL. As you guys know, I have a large LA clientele. I kid you not: one of my customers actually asked me about making a lexan skidplate so people could see his shiny undercarriage.

He was one of those folks that I commonly joke about: if I gave them back their Landcruiser with no front driveshaft, I wonder if they would ever notice?

@D’Animal actually knows one of those no front driveshaft guys! I wonder if he still remembers the scene at the articulation ramp at his house, so many years ago.

I don't see what you're talking about, looks pretty clean to me. What exactly were you expecting?

Good point. I would like to be able to brush paint the transmission and have the paint stick. Not too worried about the aluminum stuff.
