Say money is no object. Whats the best looking, most low profile roof rack available that fits a FJ62?
Full roof design, and as low as possible to keep my truck and rooftop tent as low to the ground as possible.
What are all the options on the market right now?

I had a GOBI Stealth on my old 4th Gen 4Runner and loved it. Would get one for my recently acquired 84’ 60 but, there are more important priorities before that can happen.

This is a mud member out of Michigan that makes racks. I have not purchased one yet, but like them because of the low profile and the price is not bad either. I did see on a cruiser at a local club meeting and it looked great close up.

I like the look of these the best. I also like that it’s aluminum, powder coated and supports Yakima accessories.

If you’re just after a tent, I’d find 4 Yakima bars with gutter clamps and go that route. My truck came with an older full length rack. It’s heavy and I don’t find it that useful, it’s more of a look than anything...it’s been leaning against the back wall of my garage since I got the truck.

If you want the look, buy the one you think looks the best. Otherwise, figure out what you want to put up there and buy accordingly.

Happy Bowfin Cruisers customer here. Pat / @dogfishlake makes a quality product.

You can only go as low as the crown of the roof which is a few inches above the gutters. All of the
rack builders do this. Some have the perception of being "lower profile" than others but the real
variation is probably no more than an inch to the bed of the rack. There's three basic styles, flat,
basket and a combination of flat and basket. Which is the best looking?..I don't know.. which is the
best looking of these?

Oh my!! Definitely don't want a low profile rack on one of those.

I just did a trip with four 66” Yakima bars. My arb roof top tent was on the back two and I had no issues. The Yakima basket up front had 5 Jerry fans with fuel and water as well as a crate with supplies.

The front basket moved side to side off road. The plastic clamps would flex and the load would shift.

I’m selling all the Yakima stuff and getting a real rack now. I don’t need that stuff falling off of the roof.

I'm with @icwizard on the height. Amost all are after low profile. Some are adjustable and are up higher than need I suppose.
The good news here for the customer is that there are quite a few really good rack choices (not always the case with Cruiser accessories) so really you get to pick the one you like the looks of and price, accessories, etc.

Oh, and Halle Berry, thank you.

Are the Gamaviti racks aluminum or steel? Couldn't find that info on their site.

Well that's the point of this question. I had never heard of Gamaviti or Bowfin racks before, even in my google searches. So I ASK THE MUDGODS what they like the best, and i get a variety to choose from. Entertaining though, thanks.

I’ll put a plug in for Bowfin Cruiser racks. Sold my Gobi stealth and put a Bowfin on my 80, and also have one on my 60.

My 80 now fits in my garage with a 3in lift and 35’s. It did not fit with the Gobi Stealth, and the Bowfin is at least 2 inches more clearance.

Patrick @dogfishlake is a cruiser enthusiast, builds a stellar product, and will definitely take care of you. He’s an awesome vendor to purchase from and an all around straight up, good dude. He also owns a powder coating business and I guarantee it will be done right.
