there are 3 "unused" plugs under the console....none have a constant hot....all have a switched hot.

4 phillips screws for the shifter console, plus unscrewing the t-case knob and shifting into D to clear the shifter itself.....three 10mm or 12mm bolts to pull the armrest console....

bring a shop vac too...lotsa "stuff" down there, made about $3 as well....

Nice, I'm the only one with the hot plug.

In my case, I only have 1 connector, not 3 and it's grey in color with 4 pins.

1993 no lockers.

Well, that was easy.... :)

Power!

(Now if I only had something to plug into my power outlet.)

Just making sure. They are switched Hot so I can use them for the CB I just bought?

Do you know what Fuse it ties to so I can check the amperage to see if it needs to be changed? CBs don't draw much so it shouldn't be a problem unless its like a 5 or 10.

I found 3 switched hot plugs under the center console, just behind/under the front edge....two of these were smaller white square plugs, believe there were 6/8 connections there.....the 3rd was a 3 wire connector, and the wire gauge was beefy enuf to handle a CB.

Generally speaking, the gauge of wire used in a circuit will reflect the size of fuse it's attached to...but I don't know which circuit it was on.

Just do it right from the beginning. If you add sub-par 12v outlets in the back tapping into some unknown source you are never going to know the capacity. I know you think you will only put the Ipod in, but next thing the wife buys a fancy 1000 watt 12v hair dryer and takes it on a camping trip and she wants to surprise you one day how she looks. Boof goes the circuit.

Running dedicated is much easier than screwing around with existing wires. See http://www.sleeoffroad.com/technical/tz_interior_fusebox.htm

I did it right at the end. Took a lot longer but worked out well. :D

I thought I'd get hazed for posting a pic of this lame mod. :D

I can also now post a pic (eventually) of the icy cold 12 pack of PBR in my ARB refrigerator.

By this time tomorrow me and my kids will be headed out for some serious bluegrass, 4 days, the ARB ought to come in very handy. Meeting Sangamo up there, looking forward to that.

And as a country picker, Jim, you might be interested to know that we're actually seeing Loretta Lynn of all people on Thursday night. And not with Jack White so I'm sure it will be straight up country (with one big ass dress). ;p

I have always wanted to say this and now I get my chance, and I can aim it at one of my true Cruiser friends:

"This thread sucks without YOUR pics." :flipoff2:

unfortunately, this is likely a pending article for Toyota Trails, so all photographs must be kept in strictest confidence :flipoff2:

Christo, where do you pick up that fuse block? that rocks....

I would love to go to that festival sometime, so have fun and a beer for me.

Don't worry about that mod being lame, I happen to know first hand that jumbo white Texas truck likes its operator to have cold beer on hand at all times. It was always the beer truck at the music festivals I played. I wanna see pics, Toyota Trails or otherwise.

OK.

Pic #1 is the outlet. I had hoped to mount it higher so it wouldn't get bashed into but there's a lot of sheet metal up higher and it was snowing when I did this.

Pic #2 (extreme tech ;p ) is the fused wiring in the engine compartment. The rest of the wiring is well hidden up until the driver's seat, somewhat exposed there but I'm not done. It was snowing....

Pic #3 is the real tech shot. :D Man that can looks cold!

Truth be told this refrigerator will be used mainly for food. Which is to say I'd better get going on the 12 pack. :D

Mounting a Co2 tank back there soon too. Getting crowded.

Is that a pic of the fridge thats going in truck? If so, do you have a make and model? I returned the cheapo I bought since it would only cool to 40 degrees less then the ambient, but I cant afford an Engel.

I'd like to help you with the PBR

ARB
Model: MT35F-AL (USA)
Weight: 21 kg (46 lbs)
• Capacity: 32 litre (33 quart)
Dimensions: H408 x W631 x D360mm
(H16 x W24 7/8 x D14 1/8")
*Average DC Power Consumption:
0.7 to 2.7 amp hr

They make a 40 and a 60 quart model as well.

I had a bit of a connection at ARB for it. Otherwise they're sold retail at plenty of places (http://www.sleeoffroad.com/products/products_interior_main.htm)

That truck HATES snow.

Very nice job Todd. You oughta be weighing in near 6500 lbs now including options and extras.

And, predicting gallons per mile and not vice-versa, for this trip I have half a rack full of gear and we're towing a pop-up camper. Good thing it's only 4 hours round trip or I'd need to alert OPEC.
