Snowed pretty hard in the Nashville area yesterday, so I'm sitting on my laptop getting inspired by you guys and planning for my rear electrical setup. I think I'm going to run 4 gauge wire to the back of the rig, connected to a fuse block. From there I can connect off to a 12 v socket panel which can then run/do other things, including the power station battery pack for my fridge

Since I won't be running super heavy electrical loads in my cargo area, what gauge wire? 4 or 6?

What's the heaviest load you'll run?
Do you have a fridge? Or plans to get one?

Or compressor? I think from memory, my compressor draws the most.

Size the cable and fuse for the heaviest load, voltage drop, and a bit of headroom.
Up size it a bit so if you have a compressor running, and fridge cycles on you don't fry anything.

The chart attached is helpful

Actually, that chart isn't the one I thought it was.
It starts at 100amp load which is way larger than what you're talking about.

Some useful info here

Just going to run fridge and basic 12v stuff like charging things and maybe rear lighting.

Did you ever get this all wired and would be willing to post some pictures of how it turned out? I am planning on doing exactly what you’ve talked about here. What style 12V panel and/or fuse box did you end up getting? Is it constantly powered or can you switch it off? Which model fridge/power station/other accessories have you run and what were the results? Hope it has worked out for you!

Might help with the rear install

I'm still waiting for my 12 gauge wire to come in, but I'm going to do a similar setup to others on here, and It's pretty simple:

-Battery to fuse panel (in engine bay area)
-12 gauge wires back to rear of cargo area
-USB/Socket connections installed on cargo panel in rear
-Socket to be used for pass through charging on my portable power station
-Fridge connected to portable power station

-Once it's set up I'll post some pics. It's down and dirty budget style....
