Also in my research I found that any sustained temps over 200 is generally BAD and if the trans temps are too cold, you wont be able to lock up over drive.

Damn it!!!

Mmm so whats too cold :bang: in cooler weather I NEVER get over 150 and more then half my drive just to get there:frown:

Now THAT would be nice! I've only seen my tranny get up over 200 once on a long hill climb. I have my sender in the outlet port to the cooler and it is never warm enough in my opinion. It would be so nice to be able to vary the flow through the cooler just like the engine thermostat does. I have read everywhere that the trannies need to stay in the correct range to work properly.

What was that cooler PN and where did you get it from?

As for where to mount the sender, there are lots of differing opinions from very intelligent people..

I bought a cooler for my F350 that came with a temp sensitive valve. When the temp was below 190 it would route the fluid back to the tranny. Once over that it would open and allow fluid go the cooler. It's important that tranny fluid gets up to operating temp.

Well... For the sake of NOT draining all the trans fluids, for the time being, I'm just gonna run it off the line till I change fluids in the trans.

My new sag box came in... It was actually a better quality and more expensive reman than the one in had... Didn't say anything of course!! :)

I also got Monday off, so I'll be registering old girl then!!!

Legal to drive on the streets!!!!
Woooooo hoooooooo!

DMV will be closed on Monday. The state is taking Monday as the "holiday" for the 1st.

Matty is starting to look much more like a complete vehicle.

Jump on that deal!

Care to estimate the number of hours you have in this? Thousand? What would you take for Maty? I'm pretty sure not $50k. $100k?

Any plans for a winch?

Yeah... When I can afford it, I'll pick one up. Right now cash is pretty tight.

Btw... I have around 10 probably closer to 11 grand into the 40 after nuts and bolts and Misc. Stuff.
When I got insurance yesterday, they asked the value... I figured around 25k. Guy almost choked for that year, but if I were to have my rig built by someone else, I figure that would be ABOUT what the cost would be.

I don't think you will find someone build it like that for only 25k.
Besides, the guy would kill you half way through the build for all the commenting you'd do.:D

Sounds to me like you haven't been tracking too closely. I've got more than that into mine without any paint, stock gauges, radiator, fuel system, etc. I paid about $2k for welding services so far.

This ^^^. I'm pretty sure you're off by $10k.

Nope.
I already had the wheel/ tires, already had the diffs re geared and lockers installed which were a huge dollar amount from my last build. A bit over 2k right there.
Last time I sat down w- receipts, I was at 9k, so... Meh... Either way, it's only money, right. :)

Got the speedo calibrated today!! :)
Pretty happy about that. In nice to see how fast I'm going compared to how fast it feels like I'm going.
Looking forward to wheeling this weekend!!!
