I am at work right now but I have a cell phone pic I took. I think this is how it goes its the only way it makes sense to me. Hopefully mano will post up and let me know. I am a little worried about the bushing. I think it will wear on the poly spring bushing over time.

Here is an example. Took this picture on the trail of someone's 40. I like the offset shackle personally.

Thanks guys. Nice to know my idea is likely to work. Now back to your regularly scheduled Chicago build.

How is your build Keith?

I am awaiting progress, the head(gasket)case should be running by now:D

I am in need for some more pic's;)

HAHA...Just got back from vacation back home in Chicago. Will start working tomorrow on Jezebel.
Looking forward to it.:bounce2::bounce:

This is the route I plan to go as well.
I know...COG is BETTER with the through the frame mounting, but...I just dont like it. EVERY ONE that Ive seen hits the frame or eventually WILL with spring settle.

Just my .02

You never said what you were planning in terms of outboarding the shackle end of the front suspension.

:D
As Ewheeler did.
Ill be starting the front end tomorrow.

Evan, We did that on Randy's 40! That was on the spring creek run!!

Started the SOA for the front. Having a little trouble figuring out the ruff stuff diff side perch....
Not quite sure how that makes things any easier, but I guess Ill see.
Got all of the old hangers off, and got the front hangers where I need them and tacked in.
Im thinking that Ill need the drive shaft made BEFORE I can really FINISH this part. So Ill get the shackle angles set FIRST and get all that on, then set the pinon and perches.

Just use a piece of tape from the t-case out put flange to diff flange. Or you can use a piece of wire. Anything that will give you a straight line to give you an idea of what the d-line will look like. I would wait until everything was in/on the rig before doing the front d-shaft.

I used one of those broom handles that twist lock to whatever length you need when I was measuring for the DS lengths.

Now that is a good idea!!!!

I was thinking about this as well, and youre right. I donno what kind of clearance Im gonna have around that trans pan, and Id hate to spend the dough on a shaft an have it NOT be right.
Just had to think about it a bit more I guess.:o

Have any old driveshafts lying around? I've sectioned and welded old shafts for mockup so that I could check for clearance completely before getting new shafts made.

Getting the front mocked up.
Got this MASSIVE outboarding gusset from Ruff stuff when I ordered the soa kit....not too sure about it either. May take it away.

BTW, are those front spring hangers right, or do I have em reversed?
Those springs are stickin RIGHT OUT THERE!?

Guess that I never really noticed the direction those were mounted...
Thanks Rusty!
