I had to pull the rear passenger drum brake apart again to put in the new dust seal which I couldn't find the first time

Looks good in there Chappo.

But where's this little oil seal?

Without that you'll get diff oil in your wheel-bearing grease making it all goey and prone to flinging out (through the big seal on the rear of the hub and then through that new dust seal ) to then get inside your brake drums.

The seal was installed after picture lucky I ended up with 4 of them aswell

Pulled the drivers side rear drum brake off this morning. I have never seen one so rusty on the inside it was buggered

Got the new paint and tried it out I like it not as much as the original colour 6l4 light olive

Its quite a lot greener isn't it? The OG olive was a great color

Yeah the olive was a great colour
Pissed of about it but as my budget is getting very tight I just got a standard colour paint so it was cheap I will paint a swb 40 in olive one day

My budget will get better once I get it on the road as I can sell my 80 series

The last few day I have installed a new rear diff finished rebuilding my drum brakes and have started to paint the cab the new green
I also painted the rear shocks

Today I finished the instal of the rear axles and drum brakes

I also put on the rear shocks and brake lines

Today I also started unraveling more tape off my wiring harness but have found a wire from the dash plug that I traced to the oil pressure switch as my harness is labeled was just seeing if I should fix this or is it supposed to be like that. All bare wire about 10cm of it

I remember that wire braid when I rewound my loom back in 2007/2008, but cannot remember, its a shield and it went on to connect to something, I am sure it went to a plug?

PS. You are right, its oil pressure cut off or a oil sensor, just thought it strange at the time it connected to a plug.

Yeah mate that wire looks factory in mine

Today I did some more wiring and wrote a few pages of todo list.

After that I put some oil in the rear diff and put one of my spare tyres off my 80 series on it as I had one tyre that keeps going flat but I hate to say it I like the look of it on there

I would also hate to say that 16 inch wheel does suit truck Chappo :) Mate its looking good now keep up the great work.

ja, that particular mag wheel looks real nice on that 40 of yours chappo. i think as long as they are not over the top and chromed, there are some real nice looking mags that suite 40's

Today it wasn't raining so I painted the inside of my doors so I can put them back on and paint the whole exterior of the ute at the same time next sunny day.

I have got about 3 feet if the engine bay wiring harness left to go through and then I might be able to get it running again to
image.webp

I also installed the doors

I will probably use the tray that came on it until I save up some more money and make a custom tray when I buy another welder
