I bet that glow plug hasn't worked in a while Chappo!

BTW - If I was you I'd immediately cover those high pressure outlets on your IP. You don't want any crud falling in any of those (and later getting forced into your injectors).

Yeah that was the first thing I did was cover them

Started to clean the motor this week cleaned it a little in the exhaust side on Monday it was just black from dirt and oil and the intake side wasn't much better but after about three hours it was allot cleaner

Looking good chappo
I wouldn't even paint it as it's coming up pretty good with a degrease and scrub. The aluminum will come up like new with a decent cleaner.
My H engine come up like that after a good scrub.
Keep the photo's coming mate where looking forward to the rebuild

Just looked at your h engine what cleaner did you use on it or recommend

I used a product from chemtech its a aluminium cleaner called blitz. Dont leave it on for to long so it might need a few applications. I used a stiff brush and a tooth brush for the hard to get places.

Thanks mate I will get some from supercheap on the weekend and give it a go cheers mate

No worries cob. Harley sell a good product called S100 thats a engine brightener that will keep the aluminuim from corroding again but it must be used every time you wash/degress the engine.

Looks great mate, and I love that olive green colour! Hope you do the whole rig like that.

I worked on my gearbox and transfers case today gave it a new lease on life and gave it a good coat of paint.
I am not going to paint the engine just give it a good service and get it running soon just have to finish painting the cab and get it back on the chassis more pics coming tomorrow

I used some marine clean to degrease it then some metal ready on it to convert the rust then some heavy duty chassis black paint. Can't remember where I got it from

Put the newly rebuilt park brake back on transfercase and filled gearbox and transfercase with oil

I think it is some type of aluminium alloy.

But if you find any aluminium alloy of the same thickness (or perhaps even slightly thicker) I reckon you should be fine.

Just don't use anodised aluminium because I seem to recall the coating on this is rather non-conductive.

(Actually if you find some brass strip of similar gauge that might look cooler still, although it might offend the purists.)

Hi marbles I was actually looking at brass today so I might go that direction it will look cool

The last few days I have been preping and cleaning front and back of cab and painted it so I can put the cab back on the chassis and finish painting it while it's on there
