Just pulled the low range sending sensor off and yes you gain control of the CDL in low range but the rear locker will not lock.
Now I need to look at the EWD and see if there is a way. If I cannot find a way in the EWD I will install another switch.

This sensor (switch) is for rear differential lock in low range. Doesn't affect center differential, I don't think. Some guy's run 12v to 7 pin on trans ecu to gain rear lock in high. You can check current on the switch unit and one side is hot and the other becomes hot when in low. If you run 12 volt with switch to the normally closed side you can run rear lock while in high gear. If disconnected you may loose rear locking ability entirely. I hope I'm describing the same sending sensor (switch) your referring to on top of the (transfer case) center differential, if not disregard .
This is for years 98 and 99 with rear lockers.

Findings:
If you pull the plug on the low range sensor switch at the rear of t-case you gain control of the CDL in low range but you loose the rear locker control.

Pulling Pin 7 you gain control of the CDL in Low range and the rear locker will work. The strange part is that now I also have control of the rear locker in low range without the CDL engauged. Dont know if its just my '99 but I like the option of having a rear locker in low range without the CDL engauged.

Once you disconnect the pin #7 the rear locker control relay would think the CDL are already locked and would allow you to do that.

Here's what I did for the rear diff lock in high range. "low range switch". There is another thread on it to that was done a while back. I like having the choice of what locks in high or low range. Remember that if you send a false 4WD signal to the 4WD control unit to make the rear locker work, the transmission thinks your low range and will not shift into overdrive.

But I would also like to know if anyone has done a mod that will allow OD to still work in low range? Even if that was in an open-CDL setup only, that would be ok.. I just want that 4th gear. Was really bummed when I realized this was an "upgrade" from the 80 series... step backwards, IMO.

edit: question on the rear locker mod https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/49181-rear-locker-mod.html I am confused at posts 13-15. If I understand correctly I need to tap into the black wire with the blue trace, and supply it a constant 12v. But I don't actually cut the wire. What are you referring to when you say ground it in post 14 in that other thread?

Thanks Augie...I'll tear into that tomorrow night. Question: Why does the wire/lead need to be grounded and not just disconnected like the center diff wire/lead?

Yeah man, I knew there had to be a better way.. gotta be open in low, in over drive... And rear locker in high will bring our donuts to a whole new level this winter.. just need to nail down the exact instructions then let's knock these out.

At what speed then does it shift into 4th? Seems like my 2000 when I'm in 4L 3rd will wind to over 3k without hinting that it wants to grab another gear. Not that big of a deal, if the road is that nice just switch to 4H anyway.

Anyway if I can get OD in 4L then that would pave the way for Marks t-case gears...

Electronics aren't my strong suit...so if anyone has a thought about this I'd appreciate it! 100TD?

What about just installing a bypass switch around the current CDL arrangement? That is, have a manual switch (outside of the OEM loop) and then also provide a remote indicator (again outside of OEM loop). This would make the ECU blind to the CDL state, although it still could (in theory) detect the state by counting revs vs travel distance.

Got a hot tip to just pull the 4L wire from the t-case switch. I'll give that a try. Hopefully its just that simple. Then calling Marlin to see about his new 25% reduction gear set...
