As it stands the 100 has a fairly low L range to begin with, I could see this a a nice mod even without changing the gears in the t-case.

The utility probably varies with geography but around here it's not uncommon to be blazing along a road and come across a wash that you need to creep through, followed by a few miles of flat road and another wash.

Right now I find myself stopping, shifting to 4H, going 1/2 mile on fast straights, stopping, shifting to 4L. Rinse, wash, repeat. Having 4th in 4L would definitely be nice, even without the uber-low Marlins. In this scenario, I wouldn't worry about heat. Running Amsoil synth anyway.

The HF2A is a very robust t-case from what I've learned.

I don't know what effect pulling the connector will have on '00+ TSC/ATRAC if any.

After talking with Ben at Slee I might put a switch in line so I can turn that on/off as needed as tranny braking is, per Ben, effected without it...but I'm going to wait until I get some dirt time with it as is before thinking about another project for "the list" ;)...even the simple projects, like an in-line on/off switch, have a way of consuming a couple days.

Speaking of "the list" and time consuming projects: Marlin gears are ordered.

When you get ready to install the switch Sandy's has a neat little rocker switch with a built in LED.

While you're in there, do you think installing the Slee part time kit would be a worthy mod?

^^^ not for me.

I've been going back and forth over the past couple years about "upgrading" to a +03. This Marlin 3.1 T-case with overdrive sounds great but...

The A750F has a lower first gear than the A343F. By how much? 25.5%!! Uggh.

I'd like to know with the 5sp, which upper gear does it allow in LO range.

Pretty sure you get all 5 gears.

You do

and no need for the "pin 7 mod".

Switching into LO on my 04 does not engage the CDL. It engages via the button on the dash and it doesnt matter if its in high or low

You get all 5 gears in LO with the CDL. Provded that baja'ing the trail doing the maze last month

Thanks for the link:) Pin 7 Mod completed

Findings:
If you pull the plug on the low range sensor switch at the rear of t-case you gain control of the CDL in low range but you loose the rear locker control.

Pulling Pin 7 you gain control of the CDL in Low range and the rear locker will work. The strange part is that now I also have control of the rear locker in low range without the CDL engauged. Dont know if its just my '99 but I like the option of having a rear locker in low range without the CDL engauged.
is this because when in low range with 98-99 it also automatically locks Ctr diff and using the button for cdl is only ness in high range? Im new so try not to yell at me to much!

Correct. This was the first mod I did on my 98. So much nicer being able to use Lo Range without the CDL engaging.

thats great! so thats what I want as well. only other thing want is to be able to use rear diff lock in high range? Did you also do the deal where you add power to blue and black wire to obtain that? I assume my 98 would be the same as your 99

I have an LX. They came with LSD rear, not locked. My locker is aftermarket, so different setup than stock LC.

Here are instructions for making the RDL engageable in H without effecting anything else:
