Thanks oldschool, Mine is the older square style carrier, same bushings???

Same bushing!! Order four of them, or more. Polish/clean pin with emory cloth and polish/clean inside hinge. I also installed grease zerk. As to the grease zerk get a one that is shallow, one that doesn't set too deep into the hinge. It will interfere with the pin. See below pic.

I had to cut my zerk .:cheers::cheers::cheers:

Soaking my hinges with pins in White Vinegar over nite..............

Anyone ever use Murietic Acid? I hear it is quicker

I had to soak my emergency brake bell housing for a few days for the vinegar to really do its work. I eventually got it unfrozen with the help of a BFH also. That was a weird situation due to metal fusion between aluminum and steel from what I remember.

The vinegar does work but slowly since it's a mild acid. Keep us posted.

Murietic is quicker but more caustic, going to do the bronze.................I figure either is better than the OEM plastic, although it probably lasted twenty years, maybe more!

Muriatic acid did a good job? More caustic meaning it pitted the metal more?

Id say they will last a life time. Maybe the next person who rebuilds our trucks will have one less thing to change out!:woot::woot:

Have soaked hinges for three days and tried to knock the pin out with a hammer and punch.....I think I need a larger hammer!!! BFH-what do people think?
