noise in bell housing?Update on the Dorman so far, absolutely ZERO noise out of the gas cap, when you unscrew it it's like new. ZERO noise. Truck runs fine, now codes, no gas smell, seems to be working great. Now if I could only figure out the noise at the bell housing!![]()
I cut the URDAB out, put in my Jeep, plugged the KV with an old plug from my flux capacitor and hoping it's not the head gasket, would rather it be the flexplatenoise in bell housing?
I'm thinking...
Upper Reciprocating Dingle Arm Bushing, or,
Knuter Valve, or,
Headgasket![]()
Update after a month ... working flawlessly!!I have the Dorman evap installed! Took all of 40 min and I have both brackets connected, the lower wiring did not impeded the install. I pulled out the breather hose and saved it. The OEM (25yr old) unit was HEAVY! 56oz's wreaked of gas and the new one was 25oz's. I weighed it! I also have video that I will post to my YT channel when I get the chance. Dorman unit works fine, starts fine, runs fine, no codes, will keep the thread updated.
I installed it as it is. The breather is on the top and I left it there. No issues at all!Replacing mine with the Dorman 911-261 since its $20 cheaper than the ACDelco 215-153.
Just wanted to confirm, you guys did not extend the breather tube on the bottom to reach the top of the new filter, correct?
My AC Delco is temporarily and the breather wasn't extended. However, mine is temporary until I get my 105 canister fitted up.Replacing mine with the Dorman 911-261 since its $20 cheaper than the ACDelco 215-153.

What model vehicle does the VC 120 fit. I can’t find it by or number.Just checked: I've had the VC-120 canister in since 2015, that's three emissions inspections.

Autozone part VC120 for early 1990s GM cars with the 3.1L V6 (pontiac, oldsmobile). What model vehicle does the VC 120 fit. I can’t find it by or number.
I'm currently running the ACDelco 215 which is a dead-on replacement from the vc120 that was in there from the PO.What model vehicle does the VC 120 fit. I can’t find it by or number.
I'm currently running the ACDelco 215 which is a dead-on replacement from the vc120 that was in there from the PO.
The acdelco's been in there from when I tore out my 1fz almost a year ago for a full refresh. I've had no issues with the ACDelco it's been great and on long trips I'm guilty of pushing in an extra two gallons of fuel, which can saturate and shorten the functional lifespan of the charcoal filter.
About the same time as the 1fz refresh I sourced a Land Cruiser 105 charcoal canister which I lent out to a land cruiser pro hero for some R&D. This might result in a nice factory style solution for all of us.
Is there any reason to choose the 105 series canister over the Ac Delco to Autozone? I'm surprised there is no drop in aftermarket or other replacement since it's an emissions control item.
