Take It to then Glass shop and save your self the headache, I after tried everything for a week then took It to a shop  and they just about gave up too... I had to get In and lend a hand but got It done !

Good Luck !

Its super easy with 2 people and the rope trick and WD-40. Don't use any sealant. Out of mounting all my glass I think the windshield is the easiest.

I'm calling you next time, We did the rope trick thing several times

I think I had an some old stock W/S that sat on the shelf for years then It just wanted to coil up like a snake It just did not want to go on

Glass Shop

They will do it in 2 seconds and will only cost you a few bucks.

The rope trick never worked for me.

Curved window works exactly the same, and you can certainly tape the gasket to the window after the rope's in the channel. Have someone hold the window firmly, but not hard, against the hole from the outside. Don't let em jam it in. Slowly pull the rope, starting at the center, can be top or bottom. The rope should be braided nylon, about 1/8 inch. Any thicker, you'll have trouble, any thinner, and it'll cut the gasket. I use soapy water, liberally applied before and during with a spray bottle. Really very simple.

ive put 3x windscreens in my old 75 series with the light rope worked well

So it's best to put the molding in the frame, then the glass in the molding for all windows, correct?

No. Depends on the truck. Some glass is easier with the strip on the glass. The sliding beer window on my power wagon is that way.

Rope trick and lube still works but it just depends on which piece of rubber is the shortest and easiest to work with. With my 55 front glass it was also easier to have the glass/rubber as one unit (for me anyway).

did it fellas, the rope technique worked great and was quite easy, thanks for that info!!!!

You're welcome..............

I did the pix and write up 'cause it's hard to describe it without them............

Thanks brother, we had to come back in the house a couple of times to look at your pics, We were trying to put the glass in the wrong slot at first and were scratching our heads, but once we got the glass itself in its correct groove then putting the rope in the other was easy, then just windexed the heck out of it with 2 people on outside and me pulling on rope and guiding on inside. Thanks again and too the person who brought up ur link.
