Phil, did you get a price on the Maltec? I imagine it's gotta be similar to campteq.

Spent a couple days with the owner of Maltec USA and he only offers full kitted LC with tops being all carbon fiber. Nice for the weight savings but cannot carry weight like a CampTeq. The 70 series troppy could be had for around 80K+. The only LC I have seen I would consider trading for set up for, very nice. Other ultra rare poptop set ups are in the pipeline but nothing has landed.

Hmm, I'll just keep saving the nickels and when I hit the 6k-ish mark I'll see who wants to take my money.
And as much as I love that tan 70 series Maltec built its a little out of my allowance range unless I sell my house.
Having a wife and kid you may want to start thinking trailer because if you come home with a poptop it may become your house!
You are correct Sir.
I suggested something similar a while back (move into an RV/Sprinter,etc) and the look I got from her was none too comforting.
Is that a Camp-teak?I saw/talked with this guy a couple weeks ago in Moab with a functional poptop with solar attached.

If enough people are willing to commit in advance to a cost of $6000 maybe a possible.
Next best thing is now available at very attractive price.
Alu-Cab Gen 3 Expedition Tent
Any word on this? Looks like the right kind of RTT to go with!
No 80 series interest![]()
Not the 80s? So then which series?LCP, crushing hopes and dreams since.... well, I have no idea. (but suffice it to say it's been for a while)
It's a shame this thing isn't in production anymore. I'd love to have one! I wonder if the fell who originally produced them would be willing to sell plans and maybe people could have local shops fab them up? Just a thought..
If anyone knows, Phil knows.
