I'm bringing my 80. That should tell you something.

better pull off those running boards :D............ and I hope you like pinstriping!!

Cool, this might work out.

Which cruiser? I guess it depends on which JP wrote this part:

:D

hehe...... the trail to Alans cabin last time I ran (2 years ago) was a cake walk........ there is a place past alans that gets a little more challenging but in a good way :D....... last time I was in there we had a guy in a stock toyota truck follow us every where so it def. is stocker friendly

Cool, sounds fun!!! Go bees. :grinpimp:

so does this mean we should be expecting ya?

At this point I'll say it is a 50 / 50 proposition. Probably won't know for sure until after lunch on Sat.

If the lack of firm commitment until the 11th hour poses a problem, I completely understand and no worries at all. I'll just wait until the next chance to check out Alan's little slice o'heaven.

its all good man, just give me a ring on Sat. if you can make it.......

............ oh and you have a commitment problem :flipoff2:

Andy if it's not too late: Throw those two WP disks in you truck, I'll be at the meeting and the camping at Alans.
Jeri is going to Columbia Saturday for an overnight so I have a kitchen pass. Free for the weekend!

Yeah, it told me something.....or should I say showed me something!! A picture is worth a thousand words and maybe you shouldn't have taken your 80?!?!?!!?!?!? (see picture of Marshall's pinstriping job on Annual Meeting thread)

Yep, JP convinced me to take my 100 last time . . .

and my wife, and my then 5 year old, who all had a blast watching dad turn gray as he figured out how much Macco would make off this trip.

For those not familiar with this gulley, I mean trail, it is apparently used once a year for trail riding, and is at all other times a deer path. The rhododendrun, mountain laurel, and locust are trimmed annually by Land Cruisers brushing against them. While this is the road to Alan's property, he has yet to be spotted on it.

Picture the jungle in Apocolypse Now. CC, never sell a vehicle to a man who owns a mig welder . . . .

I was an interesting trail. AT first Ithought there would be no problem. After the first mile I realized how wrong I was. After that all I heard was "ohhhh Marshall, CC is going to kill you!" All night and morning long.

Too bad I couldn't make it with the Cado...I could have run halfway off the trail and done some clearing :)

Marshall put me up front on the trip out to 'clear the way.' I still had to stop once for him to get out and break some branches. A little southern pin stripping gives my Piggie character...like it needs anymore...

There is no shame in stopping the group to get out and break branches, remove trail detritus or fold back rhododendron. With the trails we run pin striping is inevitable but if you can prevent the big, bad scratches and are so inclined, have at it IMO.

Nothing wrong at all with breaking branches off. I tried to clear as much as I could with the Piggie. Most of the branches were hitting my hood and then sliding up the windshield and over the roof if that tells you how thick it was - I'm SOA though. My only worry was tearing off my front turn signals. If I had better protection up front I would have tried to clear more but the trade off is widening of the trail which I definitely did not want to do.

If we would have had time I would have loved to have cleared out the trail more by hand with some pruners, etc... but the downfall to that is it would have made the trail more accessible for those who might not should be on the trail. There is a heavy gate you have to get by but still...

i'm not sure the 'cado would have been enough. the stuff we had to cut was over 1'' and up to 2 or 3''. Marshall cringed every time he saw my brake lts because he knew it was something in the trail screeching against my body panels. He-He. He was following me on the way in.

Keep chanting the above mantra!! It is SO true ;p.

Some people will tell you anything to buy a pristine vehicle at a bargain price, won't they?? (Quote by Marshall - "I'm never gonna wheel this one."

I thought we were going down a 4 wheeler trail....it was tight...and I was in the back and when we stopped I yelled at JP "Marshal didn't really drive down here, did he?"

I wouldn't have taken a pristine truck in there! Bad Marshall!

I had no intention of wheeling it. My understanding of the road going into Alans house was that I would get some pin striping. Thats all. A Mile in and I knew it was going to be bad. Not as if I could have turned around.

CC's 80 was bought with the intention of staying stock. Shall always be stock and will not be wheeled until it is the only cruiser I own. That will probably be forever. Scratches can be fixed. This cruiser has been painted at least a half dozen times. It is close to pristine but it has it's flaws. All of which time and money will fix. Right now it's my DD and on the back burner while I rebuild the 40 and restore the 55.

It's been a great vehicle. I thank CC everyday in my mind for selling it to me.
