Second post and now I now have a Land Cruiser. Thanks to much help from you all. I've ready every page of this thread and viewed every page of the 100 photo thread.

A new listing popped up on Auto Trader... so new there weren't pics yet, so I went to check it out in person as they were finishing detailing it. It was traded in Saturday on a new 2011 LC. It is a 2000, with 115k miles. One owner, local, every service record since purchase... all at same dealer. Timing belt/Water pump done. Oil changes every 3k (or less). Garaged. I'll be running an ozone gen in it to rid a faint cigarette smell. Its drives surprisingly well - solid. I spent hours inside, outside and underneath this thing. Everything underneath is clean, no leaks, the paint is 9/10, The inside is an 8/10 the front seat leather is a little dry, the door mounted speaker covers are a little tattered. Aside from the sunroof visor, it's 100% original. I came out right at $13.5k.

The gold bling has to go. May just de-badge the rear, and will paint the grille. I'm pretty sure I want the flares gone too, but the paint is thin in a .5" spot on both rear doors where it has rubbed :0/

The price seems a little high to me.... I bought my 2000 6 years ago for 16K with 106,000 miles.

This one has the same issue of factory Nav with integrated HVAC controls....It can not be changed out for an aftermarket stereo without loosing HVAC controls, and a factory replacement is big $$$$$ should you need to replace. I am not sure if there were non 2003 and newer models without factory Nav or not.... However, the factory nav with integrated HVAC controls is a deal breaker for me.

Yea I know. I wonder how many of these Land Cruisers Navs actually have to be replaced.
The price seems good given the value of the current market. I wish it were cheaper but j also love the fact that it is certified and has had all of the maintainence done.

The price seems pretty good to me also. I am on my way tomorrow to pick up a super, super clean 1999 with 115K on it and rear diff. I am out of pocket 14.3 and a plane ticket from Denver to St. Louis, MO...

Pics to post when I get back.

early model 100 advice

I am considering the purchase of an early model 100. Probably end up with something in the 100k-130k mileage. I have had a 96 that I drove 290k miles and replace a few alternators but only scheduled maintenance otherwise and wife has an 04 LX we have put 120k again with only scheduled maintenance. It seems some of the early year 100's are not so reliable which sort of defeats the purpose of owning for me. May as well by a Rover. That said what is the most trouble free early model?

I have not heard of any major problems except for a few random transmission failures and a few blown 2 pinion diffs from some serious wheeling. What years are you looking at? I have a 2000 and it performs presumably just as it did rolling off the show room floor. I have never driven such a nice and well rounded vehicle.

My parents' 1999 just broke 160k with no maintenance other than fluids, basic brake jobs and timing belts. It still drives fantastic.

181k tough miles on my '99 and no complaints whatsoever other than the stuff I've messed up ;)

Where'd you get that information? Wasn't here for sure.

170k '98 going strong

167k on my 99 LX, Runs like a charm!

Need advise on a purchase!

2000 Lexus LX470 TRD Supercharged

It has 263k on it, supercharger was installed when it had 75k on the motor. Talked to the owner and he said he drives 105 miles a day or more for work. The mileage scares the S$%T out of me. Would this LX be a good purchase if I can verify the maintenance has been done?

Thanks for the input, its much appreciate.

Nice looking truck but I think he is asking about $4K too much for it. I can find these all day in the 150K mile range for $11-13K

Not with a supercharger!;)

Not sure what you guys think about this situation but looking for opinions. Local Toyota dealer has an '04 w/96K miles, originally was asking $25K. They reduced to $23K but when I went to go look at it, sales guy told me he would not show it to me since the Nav was not working right and they were going to send to auction. I looked at the vehicle (didn't drive it) and it seemed to be in pretty good shape, so a few days later (and some research on this forum) we spoke again about having the techs inspect the Nav and see if it can be fixed. He just got back to me that they would sell me the vehicle with a brand new nav unit for $25K. Vehicle has had the 90K mile service done, but has spent its entire life in Illinois (where I live).

Thoughts?

99 landcruiser 135k miles

I've got a friend's friend wanting to sell me his landcruiser for 8000, but it needs a master cyclinder which is 1400 in parts. the dealer quoted him 2500.

the truck has been sitting for a 1.5 years soo i havn't looked at the bottom to see if there is any rust on it.

do you all think it's a good deal?
