@ those miles and CPO on an LX, it's a little on the high side, but not by much. I'm looking at 06/07 LC's right now, and something with under 40K for an 06 CPO is going to be $38k minimum...

It will mostly see daily driver action, but will see trips over the pass in the snow and some camping action on the occasional primitive road. Having an Audi ('02 S6 Avant) makes me a big believer in all wheel drive, especially when I see all these Seattle area drivers abandon their two wheel drive luxury cars on the hills.

I don't think you'll need those Blizzaks in LA . Are those 18" wheels, and what tires did you go with?

Good idea... lose the Jaos and get a real bumper like an ARB... or a BIO like mine ************

Yea, they are 18's. I'm not sure why he bought snow tires.. It doesn't snow in LA.. although we did have sleet the other day.. way weird. Anyone interested in a Jaos Bull bar? It's for sale!

I was looking for a long time for a 00-02 LX with about 80k miles for $16-18k but never found one I liked enough to buy it. However, my wife was hit by someone and his insurance totaled my Jag last week and as luck would have it I found the LX I was looking for. A 2000 with 68k that had been meticulously maintained and looked/ran like new. The guy wouldn't budge from $20k but I was happy to get it with the miles and in the condition I was looking for.

Part interchangeability between years?

Hey guys, sorry in advance if this is covered, I did light searching and came up with nothing but I'm super busy and in the process of securing a 99 Landcruiser. I was wondering to what degree, if any, the parts are interchangeable within the years. I am from the 3rd gen 4runner crowd and that is a pretty big thing there. For instance I love the look of the 06 tail lights and would love to put them in, something like that would be a plug and play deal for say a 2002 to a 97 4runner. I love updating the look with simpler tasks such as this so if you guys have any insight I would appreciate it! Wish me luck, going to test drive this sucker tomorrow. Here's a link, what do you think?

As far as headlights you have to do some work to make 06 headlights work on a 99. Kyoso23 did it. Tail lights, I'm not sure...but I know that there are some 06-(esque?) tail lights for 98-07 landcruisers on ebay

Looked at that one online myself a few months back when I was searching for a replacement 100. One thing that bothered me was what appears to be a mismatch in the paint on the fender vs. the doors in the pass. side pic. I would carfax it and see if it's been wrecked or whatever. Maybe it's just the pic but it looked a little off to me.

Potential Purchase

Hi all, fairly new here. I have the chance to buy a 2000 LX470 with 177k miles. Price is listed at $12,900. Would anyone have any apprehension at that price with those miles? If I spend amother $4k or $5k I can probably get into one with around 100k miles. I guess the question, is 80k miles worth the price dfference?

Thanks.

got mine through private sale....2000 LX470 113,000 miles....$15,750 in outstanding condition with all the electrical and stuff working except telescoping steering wheel. All service records for lift of vehicle.

So sounds like this one is clean and $3000 less....I would say that is good price.

Have they done the waterpump, timing belt, seals, etc....as it is 3k miles from the 90k service again? If not then I would drop a couple more thousand off the price.

All great points. I'll need to find out. thanks for your input. Just weighing the pros and cons. I originally wanted the 2000 or 2001 so I can add aftermarket nav and sound system. Just not sure if I would be better off with a 2005 and keeping the crappy nav and adding ipod integration. What year did Satellite Radio become and option or standard?

Well, I got my 2001 with 81K miles for 13K :flipoff2:.

But just compare it to KBB, that'll tell you where you are at!

Regarding *changes* over model years. There were in fact changes between late 06 and late 07. They did not rest on their laurels until the last 100 series made.

In my 06 LX the "D" light was really bright at night. (built 8/06)

In my 07 LX this problem has been FIXED. Now the light is no brighter then the other ones. (built 8/07):bounce:

That's odd, on my 80 series and both of my 100's, the D light is/was noticeably dimmer than the other gear position indicator lights at night. Maybe if the gauge lighting control is turned all the way up it doesn't dim the "D" when the lights are turned on.

Or, since the "D" light typically burns out anyway, maybe it was fixed/replaced under warranty at some point, and the dealership used an incorrect bulb?

No, its a pretty low miles cruiser, it never got taken apart. i have dash light control set to very low and the bright "D" in the 06 was staring at me since day one (I bought it new) but not on this one which I bought with very low miles. I will play with it a little to see if I am doing something different.

I just bought a 98 with 162k for $7750. Everything works. Needs new shocks but I was planning on lifting it anyways. Last owner put 130k on it. I'll post pics one of these days.

I like it so much I'm selling my 06 v8 4x4 4runner Limited!!

I bought it to be free of payments and something I could enjoy without scratching it. I only drive about 5000 miles a year. We'll see how it goes.....
