Welding this thin sheet metal is a nightmare for an amateur like me.

Wasn’t terribly hard, I used a paper tube, cut it to fit. Then transferred that to the pipe. Lots of test fitting and grinding. Worst part was welding the .062” new tube to the .039 or less stock Toyota stuff. Blew through a couple times on my lowest setting MIG. Wish I had a TIG welder for this stuffvery nice! Gotta bump this up on my list. Thanks for posting pics.
I love seeing a modern motor under the hood but it's also a bit jarring. I love to see someone devoted to the little things to tie them together.Probably wasting a lot of time on OEM stuff, but I like the classic look of the filter box. Going to cut out the small input and weld in a larger one. My intuition says the filter is fine.

thanks to @Dubs2017 for reminding me to do this. I was ignoring it
Thanks and 100% agree. It’s nice to see things atleast attempted to look “factory ish”?I love seeing a modern motor under the hood but it's also a bit jarring. I love to see someone devoted to the little things to tie them together.
How long did they take to arrive since ordering?Speedhut Gauges have arrived, but unfortunately they sent me the GPS speedo. I talked with Speedhut and they have no issue working the GM E38 VSS signal into their VSS gauges, so I would prefer to hardwire. Mosley hopefully can negotiate a swapout.

Found a nice tap for oil pressure gauge. Direct thread into the engine with 1/8" NPT taps for the speedhut gauges.

Fantastic job, just what I needed. You think this will allow enough flow still having the stick style top and tube?Got the airbox modified today. 2.625” to 4”. Ends up being like a 2.3X increase in cross sectional area.

I think it will get pretty close. Could always cut the top open and throw a 90deg 4”. Just gets close with the hoodFantastic job, just what I needed. You think this will allow enough flow still having the stick style top and tube?
What where do s this kit found?@cruisermatt the hawks kit works, they also have one that points right, but would interfere with the connector
