So, the shipper wouldn’t take my wife’s car due to dog hair. Dropped it with family in the Seattle area, scheduled a mobile detailer, and booked tickets to fly down from Anchorage.

Crossed the boarder. Got a bit of hassle but they let us through without a search AND with 28 bottles of wine and 3 bottles of whiskey. So that’s a win.

From CA to Hope BC I’ve averaged 11.8mpg in the F truck at 70/75mph. That’s equal economy as my 100 when fully loaded for a camping trip.

Dogs are doing good. Cats are done-zo.

The views are absolutely stunning, and we’re not even into the good stuff.

Full ALCAN trip report here. Trip was strictly business so not too much exploring, but still fun as hell.

I was able to check out a GP factor table at the Desert West 70 Series meet and loved it. My wife adopted a Malamute so, in order to fit both dogs, I’m re-doing my rear storage. In the past I never really wanted a door table, but with the direction the build is taking, it’s going to be super nice.

10/10 this table is awesome.

Tools needed: nutsert press, 13/32 drill bit, 4mm hex

Install is straight forward, instructions aren’t included. Remove the door panel, drill out the holes to fit the supplied 6mm nutserts. Install the nutserts, bolt up the table. I did put a bit of red duct tape behind the laser cut logo for some pop. Otherwise you’re going to see the clear plastic vapor barrier.

Fit and finish of the table is killer. Holds a 40lbs kettlebell well. Doesn’t seem to rattle. My favorite part is that it doesn’t have cables supporting the table. Only way I could see an improvement would be cutting the door panel out for additional storage. But I’m sure that would add considerable cost for not much benefit.

Also, finally got my bug deflector installed. I was worried if I’d like the looks, but it’s super low-key against a black hood, it follows the body lines really well. We’ll see if helps with bugs.

Took the truck for a drive and some fuel. Moon was huge!

Installed a pet divider/shelf for a 76 Series from Kaon (ordered direct, shipping was super cheap to AK).

I really dig this divider. Clean, strong, simple. Highly recommend. Stove and tools will likely end up in the attic; we’ll see as I redesign the rear storage. Regardless, the two key pieces are in place so planning will start around them.

(Pelican 1400 fits comfortably)

Side note, super disappointed in my Pelican Storm box. Snow built up into ice and a latch broke trying to get it open. Need to find a better solution for the cold.

Alubox mate. We have a cheaper copy here that’s not bad but freight would kill it for you 👍🏼

Little things. My wife broke the glove box latch several years ago. It finally let go completely last year in Utah. Finally got a replacement. Worth noting that the aluminum framing isn’t tapped, I just used the screws to tap before installing.

Zoey likes to kick it on the bumper when I work on the truck, especially when it’s cool but sunny.

Finally installed my custom iSi rack. If you haven’t seen them, they’re great. When ordering there is a host of measurements you must provide and they send out a perfect fit. Australian made, I used it first on my 100 Series on a big Nevada / Arizona / Utah trip with 600-ish miles off-road. 9/10 recommend iSi for off-road focused rack. Much better than anything else I’ve used with 1Up being second. That said, 1Up is more user friendly/simple to use. Both are solid options with give/take based on intended use.

That looks awesome! I am looking for a high clearance rack like ISI!
Would you say ISI is easier to install/uninstall compared to 1UP (which sits low to the ground and is heavier)? Also, is the rack easy to assemble when shipped to the US? And can it be easily stored in the trunk of a car?

Not sure if Nic is on ‘MUD very often these days however he is active on Facebook.
”70 Series Land Cruisers-North America” is his thread.

Thank you Charles for messaging me!

@bikeadventure sorry for the delay, not much on here as mods and maintenance are seldom these days.

I’d say they’re about the same as far as install ease. Assembly is very easy. Yes, you could store it in the trunk. It separates from the receiver tube mount with two pins and skinnies down with 6mm hex bolts. If you wanted to remove the receiver tube mount you’d need two big wrenches; I wouldn’t be concerned with that part walking away, it’s useless for anything but the rack.

Compared to 1up it takes long to rack/unrack bikes but significantly more clearance and I’m not worried about wheel damage off-road.

worth noting I reached out to iSi earlier in the summer to order a mount kit for the draw bar on my Opus and they said they were not shipping complete racks to the USA any longer. They did send me the key part needed to mount my existing rack to a rack a local fabricator could make. If you haven’t decided already I would reach out to see if they have resumed shipping racks.

This is so very helpful! Thanks a ton! I’ve been trying to find a high clearance rack for so long now, and ISI pretty much seems to be the only one out there for this purpose (I’ve had 1UP and looked at Kuat and Thule before). I will definitely reach out to them to inquire about US shipping options.
