Can I post my pic of the Copperkote color?

I can live with the shade of Copper being a few shades off from the factory color. It will fade in.

But they were suppose to maintain the 2 tone with the white on the cab top and cab sides. And the bed is suppse to be white.

They are still looking for the tail lights and the glove box door.

Click the pic, then find the magnifying glass to go full size.

Seriously, that sucks. I would be so pissed!

Yeah, I was really upset when I saw it in person. I don't know if I was upset as much as I was in shock. I kept my cool and rescheduled a meeting so talk with them in a calm demeanor.

This is of course instead of me acting like a wildman and telling them how bad they F'ed up while I'm holding two of them on the ground by their throats. I guess I am maturing.

They are one of the top body and paint shop in the central valley. Customer service is thier goal and they just messed up. They will get it right and get me taken care of in a business like proffesional manor.

They painted it the wrong color and color scheme.

They lost my chrome and a door.

The broken windshield is still not replaced nor is the back glass.

I really do not know how you lose a door and all of the chrome.

Yea, sounds like it..... Thats BS Dan.... Wrong shade maybe, wrong paint scheme, heck no... Having all your chrome STOLEN along with other parts is inexcusable... :bang:

Give up the name of the place so nobody else here gets ripped!

(Illl go with you if you need someone to help "rectify" the situation)

I hadn't heard that said about them before.

Personally, I'm not real appreciative of the owner, he is the landlord for the shop I'm at. When the hot weather hit, we got on the roof and made our coolers work again. 1 or 2 of the 3 were leaking some water, so he just went up there and turned the water off so it wouldn't ruin his roof. We sweated for a few weeks until I got up there again, replaced a valve and got 2 of them on line again.

So, unless you've heard from alot of people how great they are, your experience may not be isolated.
I know they do a lot of non-insurance work, and there are other shops in town who I would choose for insurance work.

dude! fc told me about your nightmare the other day. sorry to hear about this bud..........:frown:

were the front wheels that discolored / covered in brake dust when you dropped it off?

i mean it as no offense to you at all if they were, but it would tell me that they drove it a good bit for fun if they were clean...

Way to go for not freaking out on them while you were there:beer:. I know of a lot of reputable shops here in Bakersfield if you don't get this resolved. One thing I've found is to constantly check up on the progress by dropping by the shop where it's being painted.

dude that so sucks but glad as heck it is being made right.

Well, I was suppose to pick it up today. They got it repainted over the weekend and went back to the factory color. The broken windshield was pulled last friday before the painted it.

The guy from the glass shop showed up this morning to install the new windshield and said the truck was too tall for a one man install. He had to go back to the office for some help. He hasn't been seen since. This is the same guy who removed the windshield and fixed the back galss. He must have a short memory.

Man, I'll be keeping on this thread, this has been nothing short of an inspiring buildup and I'm sad to see this last hiccup.

Best of luck to you and I can't wait to see it finished!!

So Glass Shop guy brought back 3 of his co workers. They installed the windshield but could not get the expansion trim installed. They all worked on it for a couple of hours yesterday.

I think they used the wrong gasket.

....With a cloud of smoke, and a hearty, "Hi, ho Copper" the FJ Tow Rig rides again!!!!

A lot better than the brown it was last week.

I have to put the guts in the new door.I drove home with a bungy cord holding it shut.

I also have to put the chrome on as well as decide which mirrors to use adn then install them.
