That's the first time I've seen a Group 31 battery installed inside the factory battery tray. How much work was involved to make it fit?

Pretty easy, you have to make a small cut to the inside driver rear corner of the box.
And go to the @LandCruiserPhil style battery hold down, which is a good idea no matter what battery you’re running.
I like the KISS approach keep it simple stupid.
One big battery fits that approach for me.

What happened in picture 7?
The gray 40 with the hood up flopped and we had just recovered it and we’re getting ready to winch it back on the trail.

Rich, I trust your trip is going well. I've started on my build and am using your slider design.

Do you recall what size square or rectangular tube you went with. Looking at the radius, I'd guess 1/8", but thought I'd ask. 👍

Steve
Hi Steve yes the trip is going great.

And yes it’s 1/8 or .120 wall as they call it in the steel world.

Well life has been really busy ! I'm supposed to be retired or semi retired or something like that 😂🤣 but it seem that I have been busier then when I worked full time.
Anyways when I got home from SAS I did not have time to check out my rig. In fact I still need to get it emptied out and cleaned up.
I was cutting some trees in the yard and needed the winch so I pulled it out and was like something not right. I hit the bumper at SAS but think much of it but now I'm pretty upset about it.

When it happened I though it was just ding in the wing in the 2nd picture. but it seem that it's substantially worse then that. The inner finder sheet metal has damage and and it looks like there's possible damage to the driver side frame horn. The bumper's driver side Wing is bent in for sure.

I don't want to sound to much like a Whiny Bitch so I am going to leave it at that. 😂
