Did I skip over it or did anyone take any videos of your 80 doing any obstacles at Cruise Moab? I saw Dissent showed the part where you winched them out after their roll over. Was hoping to see more footage of your 80 going over big stuff!

This is out of the norm for this thread but it's so cool I wanted to share.
We went and checked out this Bald Eagle and it's baby today

I welded the that tab at the bottom of the J hook to help spread the load when I went to the Land Cruiser Phil Battery hold down.
The battery is a grope 31 80 pound battery, the hold down held for 7 years and I have a new tray.
Question did the 31 year old tray just give out or do I need to add more support to the new tray some how ?

The new Fan Shroud & tray are going in today, need to get ready for the upcoming Rubithon event

I would say, the way in which your 80 is driven, more support is needed where the J-hooks are secured to the tray. Maybe a plate can be fabbed under the tray between the J-hooks that "sandwiches" the tray between the battery and the plate.

Thanks for your input, I wish it was that easy.
Bottom of the tray.

Didn't make it out to the shop tell well after lunch. I did manage to get the over drive water pump pully reinstalled along with the new fan shroud.

Topped off the coolant and did a bunch of cleaning in that area.

The Battery tray is highly modified already as it was moved up from the OEM position so I well tackle that tomorrow and see what I can come up with for the hold down.

The back side was pretty easy, I was able to just add a piece of angle iron.

I do think age had something to do with the breakage. But a little more to hold it down would install more confidence.
