That is a wonderful Irish Whiskey. Too bad the ABC keeps bumping the price up
Yes, I quiet enjoy it.
Fortunately in NH we have massive, tax free liquor stores to supply the healthy black market in high tax neighboring states. It's not cheap here, but doesn't hurt when I spring for it.

Thanks for the taste test - sounds like I'll put it on the list.
I just finished the Jameson. It took me a while since the only effect was a bad headache. I like the smooth character but the migraine afterwards sucked.
@fortknox picked up two bottles of Smooth Ambler in 7 year and 12 year. I love both of them and will switch depending on mood.

I'll chime in - I enjoyed going to the distillery and the owners. I liked it while tasting at the distillery......Bought a bottle and didn't care for it at all. Bought another one and still don't care for it - it's used just for mixers at this point. The taste to me is very bland.

Been hitting my office stash... Hello Blanton's

Brenkenridge is still probably my desert island bourban. I think it's the best value for the money.

I was making some rusty nails at an afternoon mixer in the office last week.... but didn't want to burn through my scotch. Moved to old fashioneds instead. This was the cheapest bottle of bourbon at the store in my office. Seen it but never had before. Not bad by itself but made a great old fashioned.

Bulleit Rye goes really well in an Old Fashioned too.

Business travel to Denver & Boulder earlier this week. Tried a Bourbon called FEW and it was surprisingly tasty! In Boulder there is an impressive Liquor store called Hazel's (logo is a WWII F4U Corsair which is very cool in my book) that had all sorts of stuff on the shelf that we don't have here in SC but was even more of a pleasant occurrence was talking with Max, the young man in charge of the bourbon/scotch section. He recommended that we venture up to Cheyenne as that is the location of the biggest liquor store in Wyoming (Town & Country Liquors) that usually has hard to find bourbon's on the shelf pretty much all the time. Sure enough, it did not disappoint as there were 10 bottles of Blanton's with more in the stockroom, EH Taylor Small Batch, Single Barrel and Rye, rows of Buffalo Trace just to name a few. We were constrained by what we could fit in our bags and get safely home!

Went to a Wilk Turkey tasting last night at a bar called 7 Grand in North Park (San Diego) A rep from the actual distillery was there. Really good time. Longbranch was developed with Matthew Mccanuagh however you spell that lol

How was the Longbranch?

I’m In Kentucky so I figured it was time to re-up

I have a new favorite bourbon.

I swung by the ABC store to pick up a bottle of something new. After some searching, I finally decided on Maker's Mark Cask Strength. I've had MM in the past and while I thought it was ok, I figured I would try it again. While walking to the register to check out, I spotted Woodford Reserve Barrel Finish Double Oaked so I grabbed a bottle of it as well. The clerk was ringing me up and I'm at $100 for two bottles. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to explain this one to the wife when I saw the manager in the back. I asked if he heard of Buffalo Trace. He said "Sure, we have it in the back." He then explained that Buffalo Trace is in high demand by local restaurantes and he has 30 in the area. He doesn't put it out on the shelf or else he wouldn't have any left. He offered me a bottle and I couldn't turn it down. $140 for three bottles, ouch.

With all the hype of BT, I had to try it first. Let's just say It did not disappoint and is now my new favorite bourbon. Buffalo Trace isn't the smoothest but the taste is amazing with a sweet and spicy edge. At $30 a bottle the price is amazing and this bourbon just seemed a bit more special than everything else I have tried. The expensive Woodford Reserve was very oakey and flat and I just expected more. I haven't tried the Maker's Mark yet.

Buffalo Trace has been my go-to for several years. It is getting hard to find.

Buffalo Trace is a solid bourbon, especially for the price. I think I have 1 or 2 bottles squirreled away.

Guys, while I love BT and buy it whenever I can, really think you should try Yellow Rose blended (not the outlaw). Usually can be found for under $30 and is my vote for best every day. It is not technically a bourbon, but is usually in that section of the store.

It is getting harder to find in SC since the distributor for the state dropped the blended (but kept the outlaw) ... :bang:
