IMHO if the time/money/space doesn't exist then you're better off leaving the body on and driving the vehicle until that changes. Don't underestimate how much of all three it takes to see it through to the end. This forum is full of unfinished projects and guys like @scrapdaddy are the exception not the norm.
Not trying to poop on your plans but pulling a body and swapping everything over is a big job for a crew of guys that do this kind of work with fully equipped shops, maybe @gonzopancho could give us an idea of billable hours on BAT pig body remove and replace at a competent shop.
That’s funny.
The guy with the most unfinished projects has all these projects at competent shops with crews of people and truck lifts!
Starting to see a pattern here!😂

On other hand I guess I could buy a crane!
Underhung trolley on a top mounted bridge👍🏼

In my life I have taken too many short cuts to things. I have used cinder blocks and a wedge of 2x4 to get the height I needed for lifting anything…today I was hanging some new T1-11 where I added the new windows in the garage. I can’t lift this stuff anymore..some pieces were cut out for the windows so they were even lighter but I still had trouble and again resolved to use any combination of stuff to lift it into position so I could nail it to the house…this time it was 2 5 gallon paint buckets stacked with 2x6 laying across the top…today was the 1st day above freezing. I have to button up the outside

I really am too old for this stuff
Damn…buy the crane and enjoy it

Al
Would some of those bolt on pallet forks on the tractor bucket help you out? I’ve used the pallet forks a few times for this.
Cheers
Jon

By the way: if you really want to…

I put up the pole barn and added that 9000lb 4 post lift…makes things SO easy…. I have a friend who will get you started with the crane 😂

Hahaha…when I emptied the old garage…I move the refrigerator….
And I do have a set of those bolt on forks…they work extremely well

Yep….1947…should have bought this the day @greenbeast first started thinking about his crane..😉

Have line on what looks to be really nice gas tank. Only problems is it’s in NJ.

Any ideas on most economical way to ship a gas tank? Where we use to live I didn’t have any shipping places so unsure of my options?

I’ll pick it up….? If that works and can ship UPS or other carrier for you. If it’s in Bricktown, I’m 25 minutes away
