I'm about to rebuild my engine with turbo on the roadmap afterwards....do we just order the fitting off the website or PM you address/payment? I'd love to get this installed when the motor is out.

I did the weld in bung when i had the motor out. 10/10 would weld again.

So, you TIG welded the bung to the ALUM oil pan #2?

Yep, a bit over a year ago when I was on the fence I talked to Joey about it and got a bung from him. Drilled the hole and TIG'd from both sides in the same location as its designed to have the drilled/tapped version.
Tried finding the photo but can't find it. Found it:

Cool, thank you for the pic

For those that are wondering how the turbo “knows” what psi to run, well it’s all determined by the springs in the wastegate. In this case it’s green and red springs which together is 7.25psi. The wastegate in the turbo kit will not come ready to go. I wouldn’t want to take that joy away from you. 😂🤣😂

The turbo downpipe needs to be supported onto the transmission bellhousing in a similar way that the OEM setup was. The same bracket is used but needs to have a 7/16” hole added to it so that the new clamp and hardware can be attached. Once put together it keeps the downpipe from moving or prematurely cracking. Really happy with how this came out.

Joey - your OCD makes my OCD more relaxed. Thanks bud.....:hmm:

I was hoping to fire it up today but the shop handing the silicone couplers failed me today. I was promised the first set today so I could be fine tuning over the weekend. No love. So buttoned up everything else. Since I’ll be twiddling my thumbs I guess I’ll work on getting the OBA system ready to start testing as well. Maybe play with the meth injection system. 🤔

Looking super clean!

Is the air cleaner lid staying in that orientation?
Intake pipe is going to have some big bends?

Hdj80 turbo intake is much more direct

Not as shiney as yours :hmm: and different scenario. This a pic from my hzj105 install.
Just curious if a more direct intake path is possible?

You don’t have a MAF to contend with. When originally designing the intake that was the original plan until...well, MAF.

Sure was daydreaming about this project on the drive to Ouray last week for the FJ Summit! I think next year is gonna be a great one, keep up the excellent work Joey!

This may not be terribly exciting for most but since I’m going to be running #MethInjection I will be needing a tank. I don’t want to add a tank. But our trucks already have a #methanol tank. It’s called the windshield fluid reservoir. It’s going to remain a washer reservoir but it’s also going to supply the methanol (washer fluid) to the turbo to cool the intake temperature down significantly.

The new tank got a new motor. The flat spot in back (that looks like it used to be for another pump motor) instead got drilled and tapped for 1/4NPT so that a 4AN fitting could be added. Next I was able to figure out that the tank covers the auxiliary battery hold down. But this truck isn’t getting dual batteries. So instead I’m going to use that hole to route the float wiring. Now that larger circular impression in the bottle gets a .75” hole drilled dead center. Then the float gets mounted and tested. Good to go.
