Where can you get up to 15k? I know Mount Bross is 14,178 but that is about as high a trail/road as I know.
He did a Central America trip a while back.
I've had EFI 80 series well over 17K. These rigs had part time 4WD and manual transmissions. We were usually in 2WD on dirt roads but 4WD often enough. They were not peppy, but never had trouble. This was in Tibet. Maybe it was the part-time 4WD or they do something to them there.

Stock tires and stock weight? I can see that. Manual helps with less drivetrain loss. 37’s fully armored and loaded is a different sorry.
Stock tires, yes. Stock weight, no. 5 passengers and a roof rack. All overloaded with gear and ultimately about 500llbs of rocks.

In a certain sense that's funny, but SERIOUSLY? They billed you for screwing up a truck, putting the handbrake on the approval process etc. Even if it's automated, that's a bit 'tone deaf' to say the least... surely someone sees what they're sending before it goes.

Ok folks, its story time...
I just put down a deposit on a super clean 97 LX450 located in South Carolina. Originally I wasn't going to go this direction but after considering everything I need the truck to accomplish for me, I just found the cleanest specimen I could find without going bankrupt.
The truck is owned by someone that follows me on Instagram. The truck isn't wheeled at all and the exterior and interior backs that up. Its got 175k on the clock and the headgasket was replaced at 140k. Lots of free extras coming home with me.
This will be "TEST MULE #3" and will be the event/customer truck going forward. I easily could have gotten any number of closer/less expensive trucks but then I'd be spending too much time/money trying to get it to look like I give a crap. Plus the entire emissions system has been unmolested. Thats a biggie.
On May 11th my wife and I will be starting our travels going first to the Bay Area to drop off the 77 Series, spend time with family in Tiburon and then fly out on Mother's day to Greenville, SC. From there I'll be pouring over the truck and traveling Northeast for a few miles to my folk's place in Kernersville, NC. Then its onto the 40 traveling to Flagstaff to hit Overland Expo and then home by late Saturday in time for my wife's extended family reunion back here in the LA area. Whirlwind tour coast to coast.
For anyone along this path that wants to meet up for drinks or food or whatever, let me know. I'll be starting a new thread specifically about the build on this truck separate from this thread:

I did the Southwest Circuit in the Bolivian Altiplano...Customs stop in the south is a bit over 5000M/16500FT.....talk about wanting a turbo! Luckily no "obstacles" and just rough dirt roads.... Bolivia’s Southwest Circuit aka Laguna Route I think gas mileage with a turbo would have been a fair bit better as well to keep the RPM's down on any of the hills without over-reving the engine. Still ran and started great...just struggles to breathe.
