After turbo dyno numbers out? (Did I miss this)?

I have some friends that were burned pretty bad by Duiser. That started to help them and a few others out since I have the resources.

Bless you.

So what ends up being the 0.01% that isn’t bolt on? Is the part on the oil pan that has the drilled and added or the flange that welds to the exhaust?

...and the bellhousing bracket that needs a single hole drilled into it.

the welded flange may not be needed. I'm making a slip fit piece that can be clamped (at home) or welded.

Well I would have to say my wife is pretty incredible! I am constantly buying or selling or improving something no asking or permission needed! Then again I supercharged her 18 4runner as a surprise, so she probably accepts the fact that no matter what we own it's going to get improved or modified to some extent! She understood what she was getting into when she married me lol

Show off.

Joey,

How does the CARB process work at this stage? Just make an appt with the 80, have them crawl all over it while looking at your docs then give you the approval?

I need to do a lot more video but here is one from the drive home. I had to wait awhile until I came to a grade. The truckers along the 40 are freaking nuts at how fast they are going. On the grade I was able to pass them all and the turbo was begging to keep going. Honestly it was the tires that prevented me from going too nuts.

So in the video it’s the unadjusted speed (10% overdrive, going up a grade, hitting 3-7psi, and AFRs in the 10s and 11s at WOT.

Most care more about at elevation than at sea level.

True but even at sea level that thing is 7% which is a good test to show the difference. I only mustered 60mph on that with stock weight and 33s at 4500rpm. If you can go up that 70mph at 3rd gear and 3000rpm then the improvement is night and day.

Obviously the different will be even more dramatic at past 6000ft elevation. At 10,000ft I needed shift to low range just to drive around dirt roads.

Having owned a Super Charged 80 in the past and presently owning a Turbo charged 80 there is no comparison IMO

Super Charged 80 are for people that have never drove a Turbo 80 :)
What Phil says x1000... I have Supercharged cars and trucks for years. Turbocharged Vehicles are so much better when properly matched to the Engine. My Turbo 80 is the cats Meow (Caterpillar turbo) lol

I suppose. I can hit 75/80 doing the Grapevine in my SC’d truck. Big difference from stock.

Yes and turbo should be even bigger difference. Good thing about Conejo Grade is that it is very even 7% the whole way. I have the stock baseline and you have the SC and then do a run with turbo.

But at the end of the day all we really need is dyno numbers from all 3!!!:flipoff2:

I'm going to chime in here. First of all a disclaimer...I was not paid for this message nor did I receive any discount on turbo kits from the mad scientist himself!

I am fortunate to live near WitsEnd headquarters. Makes shipping cheap and Joey's wife probably annoyed I'm always over there picking things up!

Now I'm sure you'll will be super jealous, but I got to go in a ride in the turbo 80 rig this evening...that was frickin fun. I was ear to ear. I'm partial to turbo anything. But this was fun to cruise around in.

The sound of the turbo is great. Joey got on the throttle a few times after stopping at lights and this truck had great acceleration. You feel the boost of the turbo, which I appreciate over a supercharger. However, it feels very smooth.

We have a few steep hills in our neighborhood and the truck didn't skip a beat. My comment to Joey was the truck felt much more modern in terms of power.

I have a stock 80 with a brand new motor, this turbo is a significant improvement. I also have a 100 with the newer variable valve timing. Joey thinks he can beat me, but perhaps we need to hit the street races.

If you like to smile when you accelerate, you'll enjoy the setup I'm sure...and if you enjoy passing smog in California you'll love the CARB # even more!

That’s awesome, personal testimony is so much more impressive when paired with dyno numbers. I haven’t had many mud members ride in my truck but I usually hear the same about the turbo.

Even though it’s Joey’s name on the finish product I am glad to hear all the components came together so well!

@NLXTACY - the turbo kit works with dual batteries right? Will it work with Slee washer relocation bracket too? If not, any suggestions?

It’s 100% your fault this is even happening. 😜

if you want to test it in the elevation, hwy 395 going up Conway summit is the highest elevation on any us highway. but before that make a right on hwy 168 at bigpine, ca and head up to white mountain peak where they tested on monkeys for space. youll be driving at about 14k'. I took my tundra with a 4.7 up there and it was starving for air and the power dropoff was significant... it would be a good test for the summer...
