Thanks. Yeah if you don't need it back anytime soon that would help.

PM me your address. I was going to go dual batteries in my 80, but decided to go with a big fat Oddessey 31 instead.

What's the over/under on page count of this thread at the time when production units are shipping? ;)

Haha well if you go back to the beginning of this thread. It was me simply asking if people would be interested. There were no companies involved. @NLXTACY was not even thinking about it. I approached him and 2 other companies to see if they wanted to give it a go. And I would bet the first 30 pages were just me making up ideas. So you have to subtract those from the normal NLXTACY total page count. ;)

The battery box is fine and planned for. What I am NOT 100% sure on is the washer relocation kit. I don't use that myself since I went JDM Corolla washer bottle kit in the DS fender. One of the things that MIGHT happen is the air cleaner being moved back towards the firewall about one inch. I'll of course be making the bracket to allow that to happen but not 100% sure it will be needed.

How many bananas is the JDM corolla bottle job? Quick search didn’t find anything.

It’s mostly a 2 banana because there is a lot involved. I’m glad I did it but it was a little frustrating trying to figure out the bits and bobs even though I had mostly everything in front of me.

I did my 2nd battery recently, moved the w/w bottle to new location with slee bracket. Possibly the bottle will have to be downgraded to smaller type (corolla) and relocated, the turbo will definitely occupy that void. Also added aux fan on the top of things, which will have to be deleted if I go with intercooler. I will definitely redesign stuff, I will have to move it around once the turbo is ready.

Having owned a Super Charged 80 in the past and presently owning a Turbo charged 80 there is no comparison IMO

Super Charged 80 are for people that have never drove a Turbo 80 :)

Phil,
I’m looking to turbo charge my 92 FJ 80 ive recently purchased.
Could you help with a list of parts and maybe direction for the job? I’m in Ca.
Cheers,
Eli

Well don't get too excited, this is not an active project for me right now. If I was still at my old job I would have had plenty of time and money to make this happen but right now I am just the idea man. I am kind of pitching the idea to a couple of people that I know have the capability to pull this off and would do a very good job.

My idea would be for the base kit to include everything you need to bolt on a turbo to a stock 80. This kit would be a J-pipe from the stock manifolds and would likely come in right around $3k or so. I like the option to add an intercooler as I think it is an important piece of the FI puzzle. One of the smart guys I talked to had the idea that if done properly the intercooler add on could be used for either the Turbo kit or the TRD SC......

Who knows if this will take off, but I wanted to see if there was actual interest before I spent any more of my time working on a solution. :)

Did this kit actually get put together? I’m interested

Any idea on how much torque this would add? I pull an overland trailer that weights about 2k and right now it struggles to pull it in the hills of Tennessee. I was going to do an LS swap but would prefer to keep it Toyota powered. Looks like I could rebuild the motor and do the turbo for less than I can do an LS swap.

Conservative estimate 40%

The Wits’ End umm... #FourWayPeacePipe For the #1FZ #Turbo and a big batch of them are done. These will get black zinc plated and then of course...laser etched
